    The Blues of Spruces

    Spruce,

    untangle yourself, for the blues

    for your tunes

    Roar like lion songs,

    Far from

    Where the horned blooms blossom

    Curvy waiting behind

    Wavey laden panes

    The glistening gleam for wading

    Eyes hoovered with insight

As if we were different lakes—reflecting the same sighing stars,

    Radiating in the day,

    Distantly dim to visit laughter,

    Where our delightful phantoms stay.

    Dirge, delightfully cured,

    Prepared for spring hail,

    Stinging, ringing, and dismissing.

    ––––––––

    Ultimatums spent with regret

Lacking in passion with dyslexia embodying and embracing salutations.

    I

    Fragility as leaded crystal last,

    Limb holding limb

    As petals flake and glide.

    Separately, we drove.

    We enjoyed the bumpy, turning

    Departing Park rounding road.

You the rye and I the breath

    Bends the shallows into

    Tint, and blunt impatience

    Passing glances facing age-ing

    Poems are not poetry

    Unless they endure

    To imprint on silver pens

    Tames the allergen agonies

The scratching of an itch of romance.

    Tickle the pinch.

    Pry and fend

    Until poise becomes glorious.

    The bluebirds nest separately,

    Sensing every feeling sent

    Intentionally ascending the essential

    II

So central was the mountain music

    From the tall spruces whispering

    Sentimental strife with ad nauseous

    Echos of Miles Standish

    Jump on the boat.

There is a new land over there.

It is a new kind of thinking

With the same desires for exchange.

    We should have considered

    That we are all foreigners.

    If differences united us,

    A Father’s Dream of unacceptance.

    1908, 1935, 1936, 1956,1969

Why is it the further we go,

    the earlier we return still;

    You asked me.

    A Brave Newness

Seldom gossip said before being acted upon. Our diagnosis was determined before we acknowledged it.

The patient is the doctor's reflections

Or a mirror lens seen in text lectures.

She liked him to accept the revisit.

The ones that are quick and stable do not improve.

The cost is too steep for low-income individuals. People like me don’t exist
