I t’s amazing how time erases all sense of reality. At first, Isabel wouldn’t leave Aaron alone for two seconds. Her fear of him disappearing again enveloped her like a shroud. She could barely see or breathe.

Percy, a tall slender dark haired man, watched them both. Worrying for his wife’s sanity, he made a decision he might live to regret. The only way to over come Isabel’s fear would be to go camping again. Somewhere else, in Eastern Washington where it was warm and they could lie on a beach somewhere. Lie around and forget the events of last month.

Percy turned and left the house. He wouldn’t tell Isabel until he had everything ready. A friend from work told him about Lake Osoyoos up on the Canadian border in Okanogan County. Or, he could take his family to Conconully and let them relax. By the time school started, he wanted his family returned to their normal carefree selves.

It took Percy only thirty minutes to get all the camping gear in the car. Then, he backed it into the garage and went into the house to face the two hermits.

Isabel, a guy I work with told me about some great camping in Eastern Washington. Percy didn’t even have a chance to finish his sentence before Isabel and Aaron both started yelling about not going. I’m sorry, but we didn’t get a vacation and we are going. Everyone just get used to the idea. The car is all packed and we leave in the morning. With that he turned and went into his room. He could hear both of them yelling at his back as he went even after the door closed behind him.

Isabel, a blonde blue eyed very Scandinavian looking woman, couldn’t believe her ears. Not only that, but Percy didn’t let her have her own way. He never made the family decisions. She turned to Aaron and put her arm around him. They walked back to the couch where they sat together most of the time these days. Aaron, I think your father has a plan. We can’t live in fear all the time. It will be much warmer over there and more sun. We’ll find a lake and go swimming.
