‘’Life is 10 percent what you make it, 90 percent how you take it’’
~Irving Berlin
44702.pngThis book is
dedicated to the grace of your Lord, the Supreme Lord; the only source of indivisible truth; the ultimate source of reality and oneness in sovereignty; the perpetual and permanent owner of the universe; the supreme commander of the world who is transcendent as well as immanent by nature; the eternal reservoir of bliss; an evergreen symbol of kindness; an invisible and invincible eternal entity; the original cause of life and non-life; the chief patron of all theists and atheists; the one and the only one omnipresent and omnipotent force of the universe; the only one holiness worthy of immutable trust whose omniscience has given us a meaning and the purpose to life.
Whatever goal you follow in life,
Happiness is the main purpose.
The course of happiness follows no recourse.
As for your happiness, you are the only source.
Happiness is dormant at the core of every human.
Knowledge excavates it, if you have got acumen.
Happiness is not something of a rarity for anyone.
Actually, there is happiness galore for everyone.
To be happy, every day we all long for luxury and riches.
When we get everything, happiness vanishes into pieces.
Remember; there is no real happiness in any external object.
Understand; happiness is the property of the internal subject.
"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated’’
~ Confucius
Preamble
Thought of the Day: -
***Try to Be Wiser
If you really want to be content and happy but don’t have any proposition,
Simply help the poor and needy, and then feel the changes in your emotion.
The path you’re following to find God, You’ll never find him there.
Know that when you serve mankind, that will surely bind him here.
When you know the self, happiness comes within you;
It’s instant and easy to get, which is the current view.
The mind is a barrier blocking entry to His heavenly kingdom;
The self keeps nudging you to fully expand your wisdom.
When knowledge is weak, behaviour will go out of order.
Once the ego is dissolved, happiness will be your body odour.
To be happy and content, you must follow a set of behaviour.
No one is yours; nothing is yours in life; He is the only saviour.’’
***When You Are Nobody
Understanding the nature and quality of the mind is essential in order to be happy, because, just as with misery, the mind is the cause of happiness. The presence of the mind is essential to maintain our continuous contact with the world. The question of happiness arises only when we are awake. In deep sleep, we are happy – naturally happy, anyway. In deep sleep, the mind suspends its functions. We experience nothing in deep sleep. Once awake, only then we do realise the great value of deep sleep. We don’t care where we slept and what happened to the world as long as we had deep sleep.
The good and peaceful experience of deep sleep is the same amongst all deep sleepers regardless of his or her status. This means that we all are equal and peaceful by our essential nature. The problems start as soon as we are out of the deep sleep and start acknowledging ‘body’ as my body or yours. The whole saga of unhappiness or tension starts in the wakeful state, and this can run until death. Around the time of death, no one really thinks whether the dying person is happy or unhappy. Only those nearest and dearest to you worry for themselves upon the impact after losing you. Truly speaking, no one really cares whether the dead one is happy or unhappy.
You should understand that, after death, you are nobody. In deep sleep also, you are nobody, really. In reality, your true happiness comes spontaneously in deep sleep and after death. This means that our struggle and quest for happiness is limited to our short wakeful state where we consider ourselves as somebody (e.g., Mr/Mrs/Ms/Miss). Many spiritual scientists say that as long as we consider ourselves Mr. This or Ms That, and so forth in the form of body identity, the lifelong battle for happiness continues until death. Once you have experienced your ‘self’, the role of the body is not relevant to experience happiness. After experiencing the self, you will experience happiness everywhere in and out of yourself. Then you will be able to enjoy every moment while being happy within. The technique and practice to experience self is beyond the scope of this book, so it will not be discussed here. You are advised to learn to understand and experience your Self while you are alive and healthy in order to experience maximum happiness. No worries! After death, there is no misery. Nonetheless, in deep sleep we are happy.
Therefore, in a state of being nobody, we can experience total peace or bliss, which is the highest form of happiness. It does not mean that one must die or go into a deep sleep in order to experience happiness. But I think we can all agree that we all want to be happy while awake.
The ego is the villain of life. When it comes in the wakeful state, it starts the process of ‘’body’’ identification and comparison between oneself and the others thereby increasing the tension between the individuals. This is the arrival of misery in life. In deep sleep, ego disappears and the mind is dissolved leaving you in peace where the self is the true experiencer.
Since, we are ordinary human beings, therefore, can’t dissolve our minds in a wakeful state as we need them to enjoy and experience the world. We need to enhance the level of our ‘consciousness’ so that we can experience peace and happiness while being awake. Extraordinary human beings like Lord Jesus, Lord Krishna, and Lord Buddha were able to dissolve the their minds (temporary suspension of all the functions of the mind) while being fully awake. They experienced supreme states of happiness in a wakeful state and shared their knowledge and experience to help us learn from their teachings. The truth is Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, and several others great personalities didn’t actually identify themselves in the form of ‘individual body’ as Mr. A, B, or C. They were great individual souls wrapped up in different bodies (named Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Muhammad, etc.) that they enacted from soul to soul. That is why they are immortal and living in our minds afresh. People who practise highest level of meditation are able to dissolve the mind while meditating. When the mind is dissolved, mental manifestations are inhibited. In such a state, the person in meditation will not experience pleasure or pain.
In the same manner, when you know your soul or self, you will remain with your origin. The body will act as a medium to maintain the relation between the mind and the world. Our common original source is full of love and bliss and is eternal. It suggests that in deep sleep, our happiness is the same as that of our Lord’s in their wakeful state. For example, in deep sleep, your and my experiences are the same as that of Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Cristiano Ronaldo, Roger Federer, Prince Charles, or Pope Francis, David Beckham, etc. In deep sleep, we all are equal and equally happy.
The problems in life start as soon as the body identity comes into play in a wakeful state. Our current knowledge is limited to the body only. As long as the body becomes the prime thing in life, the mind becomes the master. To experience true happiness, you should be the master, not the mind. Who is that ‘you’? This is not your body but the self or soul. When you start functioning from your ‘self’ or ‘soul’, your experiences will be same to those of our Lord. This book will not provoke you in any way to become like our Supreme Lord but will encourage you to raise the quality of the current level of your self-awareness or consciousness, so that you will be able to experience permanent happiness and genuinely enjoy your lifetime.
With practice and experience, any human being can enlighten his or her soul to the highest level and exhibit divine qualities. In life, happiness is the final outcome of the positive play of game between your ‘self’ and the mind. If the mind wins, you will remain heavily engaged in the world. If the self defeats the mind, you will be able to experience bliss while enjoying the world. The function of the mind is to engage you or your ‘self’ to experience the world via body. Here you must remember that as long as the mind is busy in its schedules of engagement with the world, happiness will stay remote. To bypass the influence of the mind in search of happiness, we have been bestowed with free will and wisdom. Wisdom is the warehouse of knowledge. Power of free will and wisdom allows us to choose and write our destiny, to choose happiness or misery, as we like. It implies that happiness lies within and there is no need to search outside. It also shows that destiny is in our hands. If you have no control over the mind, have not used free will or wisdom to write own destiny, and are unawareness of the presence of the soul/self, then no one can or will rescue you from misery.
***Learning from the Living Hell
Your life is the only property you have with you. It is absolutely yours. The rest is temporary and perishable. Take care of your property. Your life is nobody’s business. You are sentient, social, a human being, so you have got your duties and responsibilities as defined and allocated by your society. You must complete your duties assigned to you by your society in order to stand up in your family and community, and finally in the world. If you fail to fulfil your duties and take responsibilities in life, you will be flooded with misfortunes.
Everyone has to go through a period of childhood to grow up. Once you are successful in passing through childhood, you will reach adulthood. During childhood you need love and care from adults to grow and develop. In old age you need care and love from adults in order for you to live. But during your adulthood, you are required to give love and care to children as well as the elderly who are dependent upon adults like you. We know we are at the mercy of God. In the same manner, children and the elderly are at the mercy of adults. If you can’t give love and care to the children and elderly, then you will be deprived of love and care from others when you reach your senescence. This reciprocity of giving and receiving care and love in different stages of the life cycle is dependent upon your attitudes towards life and the knowledge of the self/soul. This is mutually beneficial to our survival and for living a life with dignity and respect.
Sadly, this reciprocal behaviour of giving and receiving love and care in the society is diminishing due to our altered attitudes towards life and living life without knowledge of the self/soul. The growing sense of individualism has adulterated love and care for life with the pursuit of profit.
In this world you need to rise above the base. You need to rise from nothing. No one has come, or ever will come, from heaven or hell. Don’t live in delusions, and don’t get messed up with illusions. The second name of life is called struggle. Without struggle, no one will ever achieve anything positive, and no one ever has. Struggle is an inevitable component of life, and it’s there until death. You came into this world alone and someday will leave alone. Hence, you have to learn to survive alone in this world. At the time of your birth, you struggled to come out with the help of your mother. But at your funeral, your own people will struggle again to send you off and bid you goodbye. Struggle will be limited and short-lived for someone who is a ‘lucky fellow’, while it is usually a lifelong and unremitting struggle for many of us. It doesn’t mean that those who always struggle are unfortunate. Those who have struggled throughout their lives are more experienced and resilient so they tend to be nicer people. They usually cope better with adversity and are generally happier than their counterparts.
Societal support is available for those who are holding their motivation to develop further in life. But you are the one who is expected to complete your mission, so you must accept challenges in order to move forward and prosper. Once you die, your story ends. You will be forgotten with the passage of time. Therefore, human life is a precious thing on Earth. Do not waste it. Love it. Take care of it. Respect it. You’ve only got one chance in eternity. As a human being, you are expected to improve your quality of live. If possible, try to improve the quality of life of everyone around you, and if not, at least take care of yourself and shine in the world.
Knowledge is the key to success and happiness. Accumulate knowledge as much as you can to improve the quality of life on earth.
The world is a living hell for the majority of people. Think carefully. More than one billion people have no clean drinking water. Millions have to fetch it from a considerable distance. More than one billion people are hungry right now and have no food to eat each day. Millions people are just surviving hand-to-mouth every day. Millions are born on the streets, live on the streets, and die on the streets due to poverty or corruption; they have no access to health or social care. Millions have no shelter. Millions die every day due to lack of medical services. Thousands die in road traffic or industrial accidents every day, or are killed in violence and domestic violence every day around the world. Millions die each day due to infection. Millions are displaced and made homeless every year due to war, famine, and disasters.
Children are affected most. Millions are orphans. Children are made orphans every day. They are exploited, abused, and killed every day and everywhere in the world.
It is hard for many of us to live with dignity and respect. Conflicts are everywhere –locally, nationally, internationally, and globally. Crime is rife, and the criminals are rampant. Thousands of people like us are trafficked and sold every day around the world and are used as slaves. Paedophiles are on every street and in every corner of society. Incest is everywhere. Very few human beings are willing to listen to the painful voices of the victims. Child labour, crime, and cruelty are rife. Violence against women is rife. Thousands of women are murdered in domestic violence each day around the world.
Millions of people are alcoholics and drug addicts. People are taking stimulants and psychedelics for recreation as well as mental peace. Some have started the underground manufacturing of mind-altering drugs (M.A.D.) and have become millionaires overnight just because of habit of taking M.A.D. by some group of population.
A large number of people are suffering more as we live longer. The rate of illness is rising. Demands for health care have outstripped the treatment facilities. Millions of children can’t go to school. Education is impossible for many of us. Resources are declining due to the rising number of the human population. Migration is becoming a necessity for individual survival. Corrupt social, political, and religious leaders are everywhere. Many leaders in the world are
