About this ebook

Cupping therapy is an alternative form of treatment that has been practiced since ancient Egyptian times to prevent and cure various ailments. In an introductory guide for both students and practitioners, Dr. Aziz Al Safi Ismail relies on research, observation, and professional experiences to share valuable information about the basis, practice, and benefits of this unique therapy.

Dr. Ismail, a professor of public health at Universiti Sains Malaysia, discusses cupping therapy primarily from Islamic and scientific perspectives while featuring historical facts, techniques and application, clinical research evidence, and the advantages of the treatment. Along with illustrations, diagrams, detailed step-by-step instructions, Dr. Ismail also addresses appropriate cupping points for specific illnesses, the characteristics of a cupping centre, and ways to prevent undesirable side effects. Included are helpful tips regarding pre- and post-care and the most beneficial time to undergo cupping.

Blood Cupping Therapy is a concise guidebook for both students and practitioners that utilizes research and clinical experiences to promote awareness of a complementary treatment to modern medicine.

Alhamdulillah, Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the Universe, salutations and blessings on the Prophet ( 14149.png ).

I praise Allah for giving me the strength and Hidayah to complete this piece of writing on an old form treatment which has been ‘rebranded’ and modernized.

Nowadays, cupping therapy is increasingly garnering the attention of the members of the society. It is also a source of attraction for medical tourism. This writing revolves around cupping therapy from both Islamic and modern medicine perspectives, therefore, it should create an awareness about a practice strongly encouraged by the Prophet ( 14147.png ). It not only heals and treats illness but most important of all, it is a Sunnah.

May this book spark the interest amongst Malaysians, particularly the Muslim society to explore this treatment process.

I would also like to thank Universiti Sains Malaysia for helping me complete this writing task. I also humbly ask the respective scholars to correct any error particularly on facts related to religion.
