About this ebook

The book deals with the cosmos of grief taking it as a separate subject that is studied through its cross section after segmentalization. It is done by discussing the human state of affairs that generates tragedy at common levels. This exploration is achieved by devising new terminologies and expressions. Meanwhile the terms of some other subjects like science, arts and music have also been moulded to leave new meanings. The discussion on each of the terms varies in detail so whoever reads it may find a sense of association to some sort of similar grief existing in ones life. The blend of realistic, surrealistic and abstract ideas would invite the reader to think over the serious concerns that somehow damage the soul. The working of heart, mind, intentions and actions has been analysed. The reader would observe an effort done for revealing the mechanism of subconsciousness but without setting anyone a hero or a villain. Man is criticised for some aspects related to the shades of social, ethical interpersonal and to some extent religious practices. Aristotle once suggested that tragedy is possible without characters but not without action. This book coincidentally tries to achieve this because actions are found as characters causing tragedy simultaneously arousing pity and fear. As the name suggests the subject of grief has been dissected for an examination through autopsy. The book resembles a dictionary in its presentation for the conduction of concepts but without respecting the order of the entries.

Author

A.S.Q.

Ahmed Sajjad Qazi is originally from Lahore, Pakistan. When he was an infant, he lost his father in a fatal car accident. His father was returning home from abroad on Eid holidays and was buried in Iran. His mother brought him up with his four other siblings while three of the elders lost their eyesight in youth due to some retinal defects. The persistence of personal traumas and associated emotional crises of the family left indelible effects on his thoughts though never making him succumb to hopelessness or negativism. His mother phenomenally overcame all of the subsequent hurdles and rescued the family but not without receiving profound grief during this marathon spread over two decades. The refuge in developing some interest for photography, watercolour, calligraphy and reading literature helped him overcoming those difficult moments in life. He studied English literature for his postgraduation in his country. He could never seek a durable employment but mostly earned through teaching students of different levels. The quest for a dynamic and broader horizon of life drove him coming to the UK in 2004 as a student. There he started compiling the ideas he had envisioned to accomplish almost a decade earlier. He had waited patiently since then to let himself mature specially in the environment of a new country before he decided to start writing at last. It took him more than three years shaping this book and he designed its cover himself that reflects the concrete and abstract dimensions of real life. He hopes to continue writing taking it as a medium of sharing the concepts.

    Prologue.

    Epilogue.

    To

    my mother

    who, through her extrapolated paternity

eliminated the need of my father’s presence after his accidental death,

    my mother

who greets my rather persistently serious failures as merely affordable outcomes

    of expendable reserves

adventurously utilised for research and development

    my mother

who believes I can do miracles

and energises for them by putting the panacea of love on my wounds-ridden heart.

    My mother

whose masculinity dwarfs the epic manhood of Atlas

And all of this is just a fraction of what is

    My mother.

    Prologue.

    Dictionary of Grief.

Since the detonation of the big pang in the shape of the expulsion of the first couple from regrettably non-inheritable Eden on maiden date at sky zero, life on earth has been a perpetually self expanding cosmic dictionary of sorrow and grief with by default extinct entries of any relief like a tragedy in endless acts, having birth and death as the two extremes being cause and consequence.

    Biochemical Clock.

The speed of a body’s deterioration depends upon the processes of emotional erosion, rustication, corrosion and evaporation. All of these reduce the probable age of an individual, because they somehow influence the arcane acidic mechanisms in the body, like anger and grief over tolerance and patience. If these inherent moles dig too deep in a person then they almost always bring his hollow being to collapse earlier. The chemical connections of the mood to the body are significant, though aspects of positive temper cannot withstand their adversary.

Alternative Communication through Transferred Expressions of Kinetic Reaction.

It is not necessary to weep every time to express tragedy, to bleed to prove the wound, to moan to realise one’s pain, to be mad to vindicate love or agony or to avenge to get the fire extinguished through involuntary attempts to achieve the therapy of the associated satisfaction, acknowledgement, appreciation or sympathy. We often have to withhold or suppress these reactions because, even after getting them materialised, we still cannot do justice to the magnitude of their intensities, which had been dissolving us. Another important reason recommended in favour of their deliberate suppression is that their expression does not bring the required effects and impacts on the others, which are the actual source of our soothing. Our mood is enough to expose bleeding, weeping, pain and affection. Moreover, it is a humiliating waste of such expressions if they are treated with disrespect and indifference.

    Spermal Deovumization.

A peculiar meta-microbiological event is the encounter of two sperms inside an egg, which is compulsorily destined to let only the bad or the good one of them fertilise the egg after the death of the other in that ordeal. If the better sperm luckily overcomes, it takes pity on the corpse of its opponent and buries it inside the egg. Such generosity always proves extremely costly to the newborn. The worse sperm may be defunct, but in actuality, it is a revenant, like a nasty villain, and after-effects of its presence never die. The individual may be permanently exposed to the predicaments of indecision, inability to distinguish between good and evil and the temptation to reject goodness. If, on the other hand, the evil one wins, then it devours the minced corpse of the good one after humiliated mayhem. The same trait then emerges in the shape of social, moral, emotional and financial cannibalism in the behaviour of the newly conceived.

    Equivalent Elements.

Sobs, passions and tears transform everyone into lifeless mobile matter and all of these four are counterpart elements to air, fire, water and earth. This quadruplet of fate is genetically kneaded in us. Autumn, winter and summer all enjoy an evergreen spring season simultaneously to flourish to their maximum intensity in a person’s lifetime, with no dimension to escape to either north, east, west or south. All of these directions are ultimately absorbed underneath this soil. It is because in our life we may normally move left, right backward and forward, but our fate is to partially go down under the earth and up towards sky after the life is over.

    Eye Green.

The most frequently found pigment in all backgrounds of pictures of attitudes on the canvas of earth that creates recognition blindness and a poignant urge to deprive others of their tangible and emotional assets.

    Natural Personal Resources’ Disuse.

A huge but barren country can be compared to an individual with long age but of an impassionate and senseless nature. Humans who had been endowed with sociographic features, like affection, sacrifice, repentance, expediency and munificence, are prone to let them remain undiscovered, but expect to buy the same from others at a cheap price. Their own potentials remain unexplored and unreciprocated. Such disequilibrium in negotiations of feelings with sister beings has a voluminous deficit in mutual trade of peace, well-wishing and positive complements. A season-deprived appearance of humanity’s mood further aggravates the situation. The availability of such resources is interminable if kept in use or extracted, but if expected only from others falls even below absolute zero.

    Syngenesis of Exegesis.

The evil forces target human subconscious like the one they would a huge bull’s eye, with a motive to coax him to intermingle pure with contaminated, beauty with ugliness, sacrosanct with condemned and holy with cursed. In all of these instances, it is only the former that suffers abuse and bears injustice while the second one grows in volume, because of the coveted victims. The two separate and distinct rites are amalgamated and the resultant potion acts like a slow poisoning for human morals. Man cannot see angels and their opposites, but has taken the job in his own hands to terminate as many angels and produce as many devils as possible to be found in the shape of flesh and blood. Before the creation of this social animal, it had not been possible to mix good and evil. This emulsifier from heaven has made good and evil shake hands, as well as arranged for mutual introduction through their ineluctable necessity for recognition through contrast. The real aftermath arrives when man becomes itself the victim of such mediation and the viciousness of this trinity is only virile for man.

    X-Verb.

    1. Use of faculties and organs of body unknowingly as gadgets, weapons and fatal tools for self-destruction through degradation.

    2. A symbol in the shape of a cross of bones without any skull, giving the above meaning with the connotation of unforeseeable future.

    Cross Sentiments.

The apparent conventional demands of emotional response towards a certain incident are sometimes quite contrary to the actual feelings of a person. We may console a family for the demise of their over-aged member, but actually, the family was happy after the lamentable existence of the deceased was over. The branch named as cross sentiments deals with the true expression of the actual internal emotions. We actually condole ourselves on the success of our enemies and friends alike, we congratulate ourselves when the same individuals suffer loss, bear disease or face predicaments. This actually works like a tampon on our running sore of desire to tilt the balance towards us in a competition with them. That is why we should be thankful to all of those who provide us with the necessary elixir for the sick souls.

    Hijacked Elopement.

A weakness of Homo sapiens is to go for or be distracted by apparently captivating objects, acts, persons and situations, and to be hypnotised by dangerous involvements and attractions. At the centre of our wishes and struggles to achieve them, our desires do not always remain kind enough in the end to let us enjoy their achievement. This entire set of Greek gifts is inherently disastrous, and being pulled towards them is tantamount to a crash take-off.

    Disable Retardation.

It is amazingly rare to come across a criminal or culprit, especially a habitual one, who is physically or mentally handicapped in one way or other. A lame robber, a blind terrorist, a dumb hijacker, an impotent rapist or a dull-minded abductor are or could be some of those. To be a refined criminal requires perfection in all of the faculties. This gives birth to two recommendations. Firstly, a non-criminal or innocent who is apparently normal in all respects of physical matters should still be taken as harbouring some intrinsic disability that prevents him from committing any crime. Secondly, if we want peace, affluence, calmness and justice for or in a healthy society, everyone should be a sort of disabled individual so that the abilities and probabilities of committing crime be minimised.

    Death.

1: According to majority opinion, it means the end of the flow of time for the one theoretically or assumed to be blessed, but actually, it is the termination of the present only, while past and future remain active. A negligible number of persons take this reality as a warning to keep them on the right track at each moment of the present-tense layer.

2: The last episode of a recurring process whose warm-up exercises have been excessively taken. See Immortitude.

    Lightlet.

It is a divider, which splits the body into physical existence and its opacity, or black linocut stigma on earth. Exposition of heart and mind through truth is also a sort of light everyone is extremely afraid of, because it segregates our darkest evil shadows from the apparent shell of coloured poster.

An agent that makes arrangements for the division of an individual’s outward impression from internal countenance, bringing horror, disbelief and sorrow for those who come to know that truth.

    Waves of Silence.

1; In the first instance, it is said that the silence is an outcome of multi-probability shades, like emerging due to ego, expectation, shyness to demand or test of patience, and hence can be mistakenly interpreted for the actual reason. It is rare for the contemporary man to decode the silence correctly.

2; The feelings of all other creatures that try to convey unsuccessfully their grievances to man regarding what he is doing on earth, not for their survival but for his prevention of extinction and all others’ as well. Due to the absence of any effect on or response from man, those creatures eventually switch over their expressions toward divine observation, pleading for interference to restrict the unlimited discretionary powers bestowed to the so-called superior being, or rather savage barbarians in the clothing of social animals. Had we been given power to detect their protest, perhaps we would have terminated all of them.

    Knotical Navigation.

A pursuit for the comprehensive understanding of the relationships between stimuli and reactions. It furthermore endeavours to consider any unexpected, or rather opposite, outcome of a person’s action shown to the stimulus contrary to what we expect as the normal one. How well-wishers are doubted for their good deeds, or how benefactors are victimised as a punishment for being too good, are only two of the simplest cases. This is an interminable cruise of scrutinizing the eccentricities man can contain and the operational malfunctioning of the perceptions, which even prophets and their miracles could not steer towards the blessing of the landfall of correction.

    Conjoined Twin Disarmament Predicament.

Two separate-thinking selves fused into one physique may find each other as a barrier in pursuit of their personal goals. It is not necessary that all family members are on friendly terms and the siblings, twins or conjoined twins may also sometimes develop hatred and antagonism arising out of natural, obvious and sometimes indispensable causes. The base of the helplessness that members of this forced consortium in conjoined twins can feel is that they cannot backbite, plan programmes for each other’s downfall, harm one another physically, try to be better in mutual competition, invariably having to share spouses, diseases, children, acquaintances, enemies, physiognomic contours, limited limbs, walks, achievements and disabilities. They can find their personal moments splintered and tasting bitter instead of sweet. Their ubiquity for each other is like abominable nuisance. They are equally unable to blame one another for failures, to accuse of carelessness, fumbles and mishandling of events. Either of them can consider the other like a still unshed dead branch of a tree, exposed to the danger of opening a way to termites, hole diggers, erosion of seasons and, ultimately, consequents upon the whole tree being cut down as a hollow structure that had been pronounced dangerous. The perpetually hovering contingency of the death of one meaning the death of the other is also present; hence, one of them may act like a death stone for the other.

They are not fortunate enough that, like a crab or a lizard, they can mutilate their specific limbs as a sacrifice in an attempt to save the rest of their lives in the time of grave dangers. The absence of autotomy in a rather exigent emergency always kills them.

All of this puzzled, intricate relationship and interwoven dependence has now no more been exclusively associated to or reserved for those conjoined twins.

By the passage of time and age, our disputed territories go on being increasingly colonised by others through brazen intrusions. The reducing individual areas abolish cognizance and identity.

Mutual human interests have made the normal individuals equally subordinate, servile and sinister for each other whether they are siblings or not, twins or not, conjoined or not and claim to be sincere or not. Our limbs are being used by others, whether we like it or not and in the way we like or not - or we may also have the same control, i.e., whoever is in a position to do so.

The advanced stage of this state of inseparability is that we backbite, assault, interfere, mutilate, conspire, blame and dig holes for others to whom we are joined in one way or other.

    Ebony Elixir.

A drink for the thirst of a mean person’s sick and morbid soul who wants to quench the desire of being worshipped, knelt before and begged, taking pity and keenly looking for opportunities to condole others in order to get a bleak satisfaction on feeling sorry. The ingredients as mentioned enrich the regulatory composition of the wine. Contrary to the rules of economics related to the utility of commodities that decrease with their progressive consumption, the pleasure of each successive pint is richer than the previous one, and also provides a capacity to remain even thirstier than before.

    Bispirit Syndrome.

It is known that certain living creatures do not die, even if divided into two parts like earthworms. Each of them assumes and continues its own life. Humans also have energy enough to say farewell to those easily who might have been inseparable cronies at a specific segment of time (due to certain irremovable reasons). Emotional attachments had been, or were supposed to be stronger than physical unity, and many died slowly after the separation from their alter egos. While now, we have evolved the method of woundless dissection when we are in a need to dispose of a person for one reason or the other. We have the same sort of survival technique that an earthworm has in case of being divided into parts. So an earthworm has two species: one without a backbone and the other with it.

    Zoosiognomy.

Maturity and sobriety of age, saintliness in reactions and the reflections of the effects of learning and experiences visible on the faces and in the body language of many animals, who also release their crudity and vehemence in attitude by the passage of time and due to reducing energy of aggression. Such signs of growing seniority and peacefulness remain unknown to the contours of the so-called respectable, grown-up individuals’ physiognomy. The wishes of making assault and doing violence, on the other hand, increase in humans when they realise the fact of decreasing remaining age and want to cause as much unrest, pandemonium and hullaballoo as possible.

    Diceberg.

A huge proportion of the environment working quietly to mould an individual’s fate, an environment from which one remains absent, but factors and relevant entities go on functioning to the effect that person on which one has no control or possesses no quality to anticipate the outcomes. The apparent physical presence at one place accounts for just one-tenth of the proportion of the working environment from which an individual is absent but over which they still have some direct influence. This can be named as a set of untamed surreptitious incidents acting laissez faire. The particular invisible mechanism in progress at the back of a person actually carries great threats, like risking one’s life in some critical gambling results that may leave one devastated and their blows may instantly drown chances of physical and spiritual survival. Succinctly, it is the future punishment of being present somewhere in past.

    Protectile Trajectory.

Some complex, unforeseeable and unpredictable paths with fatal turns that a person has to take to face circumstances and save life. This makes the right path even more and more difficult to be followed.

    Cardiac Neurosis.

The condition of having relatively reliable logics of hearts resulted in some strong spiritual relations among simple people when they had not learnt to be ugly due to frozen attitudes. Those directions emanating from the heart used to overcome the deceptively seductive reasons of strayed mind. We used to be more conscious before when mind tried to trick heart. Aesthetical perfection only comes at the cost of options that are selfish but cannot be criticised for their being technically flawless. The emotional symmetries recommended by the heart were more satisfying than the mathematical and diplomatic designs with their sugar coatings by mind. The former has become a disease against physical survival and the latter for spirituality. The challenging chaos emerged when the human tried initially to draw a balance in following both directions, and hence developed the duality of character afterwards reducing us to hypocrites.
