Renee' Drummond-Brown

Renee Drummond-Brown, is an accomplished poetess/writer. She is a graduate of Geneva College of Western Pennsylvania and The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM) with experience in creative writing. She had me push ‘ev’r’ so hard

Cervix dilated 3cm.

Active labor

flowing like a fountain pen

had me up all night,

writing visions down

in my mind

‘Makin’ ‘em’ plain

ov’r ‘an’ ov’r again

throughout the turmoil,

struggles and ink fights.

‘An’ then…

ONLY THEN

She comes out

Fully dilated at 10cm.

Twas’ 12 midnight

I birthed…
