About this ebook

He was a circle with two faces, I was an octagon bent at many places and all we were waiting for was a miracle to put us together like similar shapes
Each one of us in the world has a story to tell and in everybodys story is a villain but what if someday you find that in yours it was you. How do you deal with the chain of flashbacks that come rushing in your mind and you dont even remember when it all happened? How would you feel if one day you met yourself as a stranger? You probably dont have an answer to this and so didnt Nora Kiel, a girl who had lost her mother when her stark grey eyes blinked for the first and how her father had held her responsible for its happening. She grew up in the pain of never having a mother and lived with a father who had never been a father to her. Soon after her 16th birthday she lost him and was sent to an orphan. In that place where she was constantly reminded how alone she was she started to lose herself and amidst the trauma she met a guy from a totally different world. He took her on a roller coaster adventure of love and filled her life with thrill again but then they say Love is like light in the dark sky but just like fireflies it blinks and flies away

    PROLOGUE

Our life isn’t a fairytale but hers is scary, scary as dark, black as hollow and incomplete like love stories. She is struggling in this world just like you and me for nothing more than to be happy. She has scars on her body screaming in wrath, she has stories hidden behind her eyes begging for your forgiveness but can all mistakes be forgiven?

She has ribbons of love knitted into her hair and wears on her body a fabric of fantasies but her mind is blemished with ash of once burning hate. She is wandering for answers but do all the questions have one?

In everyone’s story is a devil but in her story it was she, herself.

‘’Behind the armor of strength a body is bleeding,

Past is never undone, no matter the amount of pleading.

What do we do of the wounds that travel soul deep?

With time they do not in heal, in solitary they weep

Everything shatters in front of your eyes, as in the morning a beautiful dream

The world made up of glass and emotions trapped in between’’

Once in our life we all have loved something so fiercely that it has broken us, we all have at some point tasted betrayal. Just the way all the stories are different we all are connected by the struggle.

I dedicate this book to everyone who has felt the essence of love, the ones who have ever got hurt, the ones who have known pain, the ones who ever lost a dear one and for the ones who did put up a fight against all the odds and survived. This one is for you ‘’Survivors’’

    CHAPTER 1

    ‘The Imperfect Perfection’

We live amongst billions of stars, millions of planets, we were all born in the heart of a star and everything around us that exists or has existed has undergone evolution. Somewhere something is being created and some things are being destroyed. Universe is expanding. With the each blink of an eye a thousand things have changed into something new. Everything around us is changing. The only fact which has never changed nor ever will is that ‘everything changes’. In a universe so big we are like a tear drop in the ocean. Who in such a big universe can guarantee that the things will turn out the way planned. Where in the world stands the promise when someone says ‘I will stay the same forever’. Does forever even exist beyond the romance novels? My mom was supposed to be here by my side right now, we were supposed to be a happy family, she was supposed to be with dad forever but realities don’t always fit into our expectations; actually in my case they never do.

Nora threw her diary to her side, pushed off her covers, dropped her feet into black woolen slippers and walked towards the balcony. Her blonde curly hairs were dancing on her back with the rhythms of wind. In front of her was a calm sea. Her house was just a few feet above the seashore, a big white mansion with glass windows and the most expensive furnishings. It was 6:30 in the evening and sun was about to set, birds were singing all the way back to their nests. She smiled at the sight and took a deep breath releasing all the worries of the day. As the evening grew darker, the red sun rays fell on her face and highlighted her Aryan features and stark grey eyes. A swirl of cold air blew her hair towards the right of her neck and left the left portion naked. Anyone standing next to her at this moment could see a deep scar below her chin towards the left and one doesn’t have to be a doctor to tell that it was an old scar. She tied hair messily into the bun and with her right hand touched the place where the scar was without even looking at it as if it has been there from ages. She kept moving her fingers back and forth the scar and kept feeling it. Maybe she was trying to get rid of it or just trying to feel the pain which still lingered. She stood there until it was dark enough for stars to shine. She sat in the corner of her balcony and kept looking up towards the sky as if she had some long term bonds with the people above. Her sleek long legs pushed towards her chest and her arms hugging them. She sat there so still that only the fact that she was blinking her eyes could tell that she was alive. As the night grew darker her smile faded and it changed into a frown. She said in a whisper ‘I miss you mom’. A perfect house, a beautiful girl with a story untold… unsaid….unheard and a scar which might be reminding her of its existence every time she looked into the mirror. What an imperfect perfection!

    CHAPTER 2

    ‘The Past’

Nora! Wake Up Nora! Nora… said Catherine, their servant trying to pull the blanket off Nora.

My vacations start from today…replied Nora in a sleepy voice.

But ma’am … she said hastily shaking Nora to bring her out her fantasy world.

For god sake let me sleep! Nora yelled at her and tried her best to shoo her off.

Ma’am Mr. Kiel wants you to be at the dining table for breakfast in next 30 minutes.

Can’t he let me sleep! URGH!

    I’m sorry ma’am

Nora blinked her eyes, stretched her arms in the air and yes then came the hippopotamus yawn. She helped her lazy body out of the bed and then straight to the bathroom. A bucket full of warm water was waiting for her to use. After ten minutes of bathroom singing and 5 minutes of complaining session while dressing, she finally ties her hair into a ponytail and heads toward the dining table.

I thought I had vacations… said Nora to her father in her most sarcastic tone

Any productive thing you think the whole year? Mr. Kiel answered back

Nora seated herself on her favorite chair, that is the one as far away as possible from where her dad sits and ignored his comment as if she never heard it being made.

What do have for breakfast Cath?…asked Nora

Cheese sandwiches, orange juice and fruit salad …replied Catherine

    Something new Cath?

Serve madam with the finest turkey you find in the town, bake some cake and open a bottle of red wine for the princess … said Mr. Kiel and later wore on his lips a grin which was the expression Nora saw nearly always. Any other expression on his face was like finding water in a desert.

    I wouldn’t mind …Nora said with a smirk

‘Learn some etiquettes Nora, it feels pathetic to dine with you.’

‘I never wanted to come down to have breakfast with you either. Rather I should say come down to have ‘’your taunts’’.’

‘Thank you for giving us the honor of having you at the dining table this morning.’

‘Dad would you just stop it, just STOP IT!’

Watch your tone Nora …said Mr. Kiel angrily.

I am sick of it dad, what have I done wrong? You have been doing this to me from years. You treat me as if you don’t want me, as if I am not important. You have never ever tried to know what I feel or admit it that you don’t care about it. You don’t even know what my hobbies are, who I am. You just know that I am Nora Kiel about to turn 16 in next 3 days. Sometimes I doubt if you would even care if I died. Sometimes I feel you don’t even love me a bit.

Yes, I don’t… Mr. Kiel said adamantly.

Great, my father doesn’t love me. I mean brilliant! How awesome is that. You have always acted like a step father to me but that still would have been justified if I had mom with me. But…

Mr. Kiel cut her between her speaking and said… ‘You are the reason why she isn’t here’.

    Me? How??

Catherine get my luggage loaded into the car, I need to go for a meeting. I will return by tomorrow evening… said Mr. Kiel ignoring Nora’s question.

Answer my question dad? You can’t let it go like this. How am I responsible? I too wanted mom to be with us. Like how can you even say that? It would have been so perfect if mom was alive. I guess I was too young when she died, I don’t even remember her voice.

She died the moment you took breath. She closed her eyes the moment you opened yours. You are the reason she is not here with me. The day we brought you home everything bad started to happen. Business fell, one of my factories went bankrupt and today we are not what we used to be. It’s just this mansion and a small scale business hardly working and it’s all because of
