CHAPTER 1

I ’m sure he’s hiding somewhere nearby. With his henchmen on the prowl, the killing gets difficult, but yeah I’ll try my level best to get him.

I promise you, he won’t see the rise of tomorrow. He dies in my hands.

But-

It’s my fight. You don’t stand any chance to help me out. Stay out, and watch out for the cops. That’s an order. Wait for me here. I’ll be back.

He’s dead! Fucking dead! The Italian Job. Udre informed this to someone and hung up.

Jerry Neuer, my best friend, my partner in crime was shot dead and I was called back to Chicago to attend his funeral.

It was a typical Saturday night, Roberto! The whole of bustling Chicago was enjoying the weekend. Me and Jerry were at Starbucks, Downtown. We had just grabbed our Vanilla Latte and walked towards the Car, until two guys dressed in Charcoal Grey overalls exited a Black Nissan Sentra and started shooting at him. There was a chaos. Jerry grabbed me by my arm made a run at the car. He ducked down and instructed me to wait as he loaded his Colt for a backfire. He’d knew that his time had come. Every civilian cried for help. Suddenly, there was a noise of cacophonous Police Sirens in the distance. Jerry lurched forward. But, took a bullet in his chest and collapsed to the ground. That moment. That moment was a rude shock as I gasped, but could do nothing but stare at a heavily wounded Jerry. The killers fled the scene with their car. Upon arrival of the police, they discovered him discovered lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead. narrated Gloria as she sobbed.

What? I exclaimed.

He’s just fucking dead!! How could he leave without me! she cried.

I just can’t believe this shit! My best friend, is dead?

Roberto. Please! Please find those killers! I just hate the fact that my fiance’s killers are roaming around the city, she wept.

Gloria was Jerry’s girlfriend. They both were a perfect couple. Well, Gloria was one beautiful yet tall girl. She had a fresh glossy skin and her kohl-black hair plunged over her shoulders. Her shiny grey eyes and honey sweet lips made her look like the Goddess of Beauty.

I was grief stricken as I solaced Gloria but deep down I knew that the person with whom, I’d started the crime life, the person who was my best friend, the person who’d helped me in each and every task was just shot dead by some unknown ‘two guys’.

Lord our God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Jerry was suddenly and violently taken from us. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family and friends by the power and protection of the cross. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. Prayed the Father.
