About this ebook

The System

Ya know something
I aint never been
and thats all I wanted
was to be a chance to be
but it seem like that system
keeps on erasin me
I mean, just cause Im standin here
talkin to you dont mean I am, you know
I could be an echo
from a dream is what I could be
if that damn system just stop erasin me
the sun is shinin
least thats what they say
but man even the sun cant find me
I aint even here!
Ya see? Ya see?
Man life dont make no promises to nobody
but I got a right to be
and damnit Im gonna be
Ya hear! Im gonna be..

    Acknowledgment

I must first give credit to my wife, (Patricia Ebron) who was also a writer. Together we inspired each other until her sudden demise. To my daughters, grands and great grandchildren, for your continued love and support. I would also like to dedicate this book, to my ex-wives, and the relationships that unknowingly inspired me to write about our events poetically. To my best friend Jessi Witherspoon and other friends that touched my life. To my mother and sister who are at peace in another place and time.

    Thanks to all of you.

    PREFACE

I have written poetry for many years, however, I was cast as the lead character Johnny Williams in The River Niger written by Professor Joseph A. Walker. Johnny Williams felt life was poetry: . . . The super eye under which every other eye is scrutinized and it stretches from one to infinity from bull-shit to the beatific the rocking horse of human spirit – God himself, God himself is pure distill poetry. Every night I was so amazed it was like my first time of saying those words. I know this anthology will engulf you as I was some thirty-eight years ago.

That literary experience provided me with the profound meaning of PO-E-TRY.

    From the author

Autopoeticbiography is my way of expressing ones’ history in a poetic form. The pages in this book is the autobiography of a young man’s plight in the ghettos of Newark N.J. Responsibility, family, love, addiction, prison and his struggle for fame are expressed in these pages.

    To Pat (9-5-91) 1st letter w/no reply

    Hi Pat,

Thought perhaps I should write you and let you know that they are shipping me to another prison in a few. I will be going to Yardsville. You… that is, if you wish to write me sooner… you can call Yardsville and get the address. I should be there for about two weeks before they ship me to another prison.

. . . all these mistakes I have made in the past couple of years, I find myself lost in the wildness, reaching for straws, strings just anything I can grab
