Foreword
Praised be the Lord of all, Who not only instilled in me the feeling and meaning of my creed of love, but also the power to retain and teach it, and has taught me there must never be in the human heart but love and care that would accommodate all and leave out none! May God bless all who walk the path of love, peace and goodness, and never forget their duty to foster these inherent qualities of the Lord.
This Workbook is dedicated to all who may use it to benefit and learn from it in the future, as well as to all the young boys and girls and adults I have taught in my long educational career around the world, who have certainly helped enrich my understanding of their culture and their difficulties of acquiring and functionally using the English Language.
My gratitude amply goes to my life companion and soul mate, my wife, who has stood by me in my good days and continued to be my indispensable support during my toughest times of sickness, as well as to my reliable and good friend, Mr. Shafiq Harbuk, for his invaluable Arabic contribution and to his help in reviewing and proofreading the final product for oversights.

PART ONE
Graduated Grammar Review & Reinforcement Exercises
Beginner—Advanced
Levels One—Six
Introduction
This Part One of the Workbook , the Grammar Review Part , contains a large number of Grammar exercises—more than 150 miscellaneous exercises—of 20 (twenty) items each that will help the student and user of the Workbook to review all the grammar structures, or points introduced and listed at the beginning of each level in the workbook (totaling 453 structural points, or Learning Objectives), which constitute the skeleton upon which the English Language builds and, without which an English sentence would not be intelligible. These Grammar Objectives are usually covered in the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels of the EFL Learning process.
As you will notice, these Objectives, or structural points, are introduced at the beginning of each level with an example on each in order to be screened by users, and by teachers, if desired. They are italicized and organized in accordance with the level of complexity of the exercises. Leila and her peers will gradually move from the easiest, Beginner Level One, to the most advanced, Level Six, with confidence. Users of the workbook are, therefore, advised to answer as many exercises as they can in the workbook and to match their answers to the Answer Keys provided at the end of each exercise.
For the sake of diversification as well as my willingness to have the users concentrate on different kinds of exercises, I have included some exercises where Leila and her peers, Kim, Mona, Jose, Ivan, Fahd and Alexey the main users, will choose the correct item and other Error Analysis Exercises where they will find out the error in grammar usage and try to correct it.
It is worth noting, however, that for the sake of evaluating our progress as learners and students I have included an Entry Self-Assessment Exercise which a user of the workbook is advised to do before starting the Review because it serves as a gateway to the book. It will also help in remembering the basics of the English Language Grammar on which a user will build progress and achieve the desired level of understanding of Grammar. An Exit Self-Assessment Exercise is also included to be done upon completing the Review Exercises. This will help determine areas of difficulty, if any. The Exit Exercise will show how much progress a user of the workbook has made in both, the grammar and vocabulary! The answers are provided at the end of the exercises but a user is advised not to look at the answers provided until he or she has answered all the questions. For those completing the exercises, the Workbook is intended as a gateway to success in post-high school endeavors of college life, social life and career of the likes of enthusiastic Leila and self-asserting Fahd, Kim, Nadia, Sami and Alexey!
Self-Assessment Entry Exercise
This Assessment is intended to help you recognize where you may fit in the ladder of Levels designed in this book so by the end of it, you will have hopefully mastered all the points that you think require more attention. You are therefore required to select the letter that best completes the sentences or expressions as required, then to match your answers with the answer key given at the end of each exercise to deter mine your level of English Grammar.
