    DEDICATION

This book is dedicated to my father Glenford Thomas Brackett: A wise man who has set his affections on things above and not on things on this earth. You are an inspiration to me and the best role model anyone can ask for. You have committed your life to Christ, your family and your church. My love for God and His Word is because of the examples you have set before me. You believed in me and encouraged me that I will do great things as long as I put God first. Thank you for being my mentor. I love you!

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First I would like to thank Jesus Christ my Lord and my Saviour who has equipped me with all the necessary tools to pen this book. It is not I but the Christ that lives in me. Without You I am nothing and with You I can do all things.

A special thank you to my immediate family, namely my sisters: Marlene Brackett, Tracy Buckley and Danna Anderson. You girls are awesome!

Special thanks to my entire Rest Tabernacle family, namely: Bishop E. R. Thomas, Millicent Robinson, Richard Aarons and Andra Bernard-Colquhoun. You are all my spiritual counselors and my personal support team.

Dr. C. Cawley: I am honoured that you found time in your busy schedule to impart words of wisdom to me and the encouragement to just go for it. God bless you Sir!

To everyone who has supported, prayed and encouraged me through this process I say thank you. I pulled strength from you all.

    PREFACE

In September of 2013 I updated my Facebook status asking the following, now edited, question: Have you ever received a Word from God which at first glance seems manageable but as you look deeper into it you realize He has given you a revelation? The revelation is so profound that it makes you want to say No Lord, not me! This is more than I am capable of. This marked the conception of The Presence is Not Present. Over the next two months I agonized over how and what I was going to do with all the information that had been downloaded into me. I tried to work it so that it could possibly be a sermon but there was no way I was going to be able to adequately cover the material in a sermon. This was becoming bigger than me.

God spoke to me so clearly three months later in December and told me what He wanted me to do with what he placed in my spirit: He told me to write a book! This was bigger than a sermon because it was never meant to be a sermon. With nothing more than His Word I began to write and the first draft of my manuscript was completed the next day. Putting the first draft together was the easy part since He downloaded the information into me months ago. The hard part was compiling all the thoughts and explanations together cohesively and in a way others would understand what He was saying.

I gave myself every reason to back away from my task. I used every excuse from not being qualified to write about the topics to having limited finances to fund the book all the way to my job being overly stressful and busy. In actuality I was scared of what would be or could be. I was afraid of how I would be judged or perceived. I
