Romance Your Finance
()
About this ebook
guiding you through the maze of personal financial
literacy options available. The romantic parallelism is
intended as an extra point of reference. It is ironic that
these are two elements of life, romance and finance,
that virtually everyone will deal with at some point. Not
only do they not have traditional means of practical
education, they are almost taboo to talk about even in
polite conversation. Too many of us learn about these
two important elements of life in a haply, catch as one
can type of way. Everyone has had some form of a love life
or dreams of having one. Everyone desires to be at least
financially stable if not rich. The hope of this book is to
illustrate a relationship between love life and financial life
so that the reader can be even more inspired to improve
their financial literacy, and perhaps spice up their love
life too. It is often misquoted in the Bible when people
say money is the root of all evil. It actually states the
love of money. We emphasize the difference between the
love of money and the use of money as a tool. We dont discount the importance of money in our everyday lives,
therefore, the need for proper management of it, but we
want everyone to understand the importance of other
qualities in life such as character development, morality,
and of course love. In other words, as important as money
is, it is not everything. Money is a great tool, but a poor
master. This book looks to change mindsets. We want to
think that money is not the root of all evil . . . but living
in poverty is evil when you can do better.
Kenneth Ricardo Ford
The author, Kenneth R. Ford has had an interest in writing from a very early age. Writing mostly short poems usually with a humorist twist. One of his cousins even managed to get one of Kenneth’s poems published in the school newspaper when she was a student at Central Missouri State University. Kenneth was probably in Junior high school at the time. Mr. Ford is a retired Ironworker with 32 years of service in the construction industry. He is also the founder of a non-profi t organization, InnerLight Ministries, Incorporated. This faith based, community service organization started its ministry working with young African-American males teaching the basics of entrepreneurship. This led to working with the parents of these youth teaching them the importance of fi nancial literacy. The level of great need for this ministry is in urgent care and should not be under estimated. After taking on a Program Administrator in the person of Peggy A. Brotherton-Ford, the ministry grew in scope becoming expert in the fi eld of personal fi nance education and reaching out to more and more clients. Kenneth does not present himself as the “holier-than-thou” expert or fi nancial guru. He instead represents one who has made most of the fi nancial mistakes that can be made. In his quest to better himself, he desires reach out to others to help them possibly avoid some of this author’s fi nancial pitfalls. In contrast and compliment, Peggy, Kenneth’s wife has made many of the right fi nancial moves in her personal and corporate life. She is an expert and gifted presenter for fi nancial seminars promoted by Innerlight. Her input and inspiration has been invaluable as the couple broke down their ROMANCE YOUR FINANCE.
