About this ebook

Delve into an emotionally heady stream of poetic storytelling as Stanley Joseph fans out his extensive life experience in a vivid collection that melts together love, longing and desire for an egalitarian society into one heart-piercing blend.

Like fine chocolate dissolving in the mouth, Stanley Josephs lyrical expressions of love and inspiration leave behind a tingling sensation with poems rendering the heart a house brimming with inspiration in It Is True, yet contradicting himself when he protests that love is often full of unnecessary pain in Survivor of Love.

Notwithstanding, he shows his strong capacity for affection in Will You Love Me Once Again?, defying rejection with the heart-fluttering declaration:

If I change all seasons into fall/If I make you my only golden flower/The one which embellishes my spring/If I make you the only dream of my nights/The fantasy of my days, the journey of my life/Will you love me once again?

Coming from an immigrant background, Joseph displays a heightened sensitivity to the happenings around him, enabling him to comment commandingly on discrimination and poverty while still maintaining poetic cadence, as he remarks, In Heaven,/Are there people starving? Stepping on each other?/I would like to know better, to inevitably conclude, Oh, what a life? Its only beautiful for some.

Meanwhile, he unhappily comments that racism is a self decision of a modern day caveman and that he walks in a cutthroat world, a furious jungle full of lions.

Oozing with feeling fused into weeping lines of lament or ripe words of inspiration, Stanley Josephs poetic musings of a despaired heart debuts dramatically into the genre with his unique poetic brand.

Last Hope before Death Tears Me Apart

    Loneliness

I once tried to destroy love

It was the biggest attempted crime against humanity…

    And the sentence was loneliness.

    Love: An Enemy of Mine

    Perhaps I need some rest,

Heart tearing, no more sun in June

Soul stuck, flatted under my feet

Searching a sweet caress, a surrogate,

A fallen angel, or a goddess from a distant moon

Too deep to dig, love at first sight

The light is so bright from a distance

Getting too close with a major resistance

Trace of a lonely smile, thought I was in Venus

Pursuing her shadow for a long while

Heart’s irreplaceable key falls under a broken stone

    Mislaying, hiding behind a mountain

No more joy for a short time

Whatever I say, no matter how hard I try,

Love is still an enemy of mine

Always ending with my soul under my shoulder

So I once decided to bury this love inside

As deep sentiments won’t let it go any farther than the sky

    Long Gone My Inspiration

How late could it be for me to receive your forgiveness?

Just look, look how long these feelings last inside, my dearest princess

Ever since you’ve been gone, I’ve been holding on

A love, that we both helped build, had become too strong

But with so many tears, it’s hard to smile

    Making others wonder

If my heart is still fragile

    Something is killing me inside

But my heart refuses to tell me what it is

I look up; I look down

I look across; I look around

Goddesses from distant the moon aren’t easy to be found

How can I talk to you in my sleep?

When I try to touch you

    You fade in my dream

How could it be this way?

There are no other words for me to say

How you used to be the key to my heart

Now you are no longer the light of my dark

    Sometimes I do wonder

If I still have a tortured soul,

A blue destiny, a despaired heart,

A gypsy mind, an unlucky kind

How love got me so blind?

You went back to Venus, why?

Without saying goodbye, I cry among the sky

    Long gone, my inspiration

I hope you will be back to complete this mission

Before the final signal of the dawn,

Before the last words in my expressions

    Sometimes I do wonder

    Should I move on?

Or should I keep holding on?

I’m waiting in vain for your return once again

It has been so long since I’ve vent

So long since a bird sang to me

The beautiful song that you’ve sent

    Long gone, my inspiration

I hope you know the world

Is hell for me when you are not around me?

My tears has formed a river that flows along with nature

So come back before the night is over

I now know how to treat you as a precious lover

Like an emperor learns how to serve his empress

Like a chevalier finally learns how to treat his princess

I earn more than your forgiveness

Just look, look how deep these feelings last inside

    My face
