DOWN AND OUT
What can I do
or what can I say
to make all these frowns
just go away?
I wake up and worry
if it’s worth it to try.
So next is the thought
of when will I die?
My life is in shambles
it goes up and down.
The issues the same
we go round and round.
The medicine helped
it took off the edge.
Now I feel as though
I sit on a ledge.
So now I just take it
one day at a time.
This is all, this is it
I’m done with this rhyme!
FRIENDS
Our days will be short and
the nights will be few.
This message wasn’t meant
to depress you.
Our moods seem to be somber
with not much in store.
But have faith in our friendship
that goes deep to the core.
Don’t give me that look
or your serious stare.
You know you’re my friend
and that I will always care.
So I’ll see you on weekends.
We’ll go shopping and play.
Take the kids to the park
