I t was a dark and stormy night. The creature moved swiftly through the woods, hoping it left everything behind in the lab. The creature didn’t want to see humans again, if the creature would see any it would attack and kill them. The creature reached a small abandon cabin and crawled inside. Here it could finally rest and once feel safe again, the dark eyes of the creature slowly closed listening to the raindrops hitting the sinking roof.

A few miles away up a path from the cabin, through the woods was a beautiful house. The house was sky blue with white trim. It had a huge arch in front of the little sidewalk leading to the front door. A new family was going to move in the next day. Their last names were the Henderson’s and they had a son named John. John was a 12 year old boy about 5 foot with dark hair. John had a female golden retriever named Lady, it was his first pet. She was a great dog and very smart, this helped out John when he had to train her. The family couldn’t wait to move in to their house, they have waited a long time to buy a house, this was like their dream coming true for all of them. The family thought luck was finally on their side and yet did they know their lives would be changed forever.

The next morning the Henderson’s was at their new house, just as the mover were already taking in their things in to the house. Mr. Henderson got out of the car first, walked over to the movers to make sure that they didn’t break anything. John looked at his and shook his head, John’s dad had to have everything perfect or close enough for him to be happy. Mrs. Henderson was totally different person and didn’t harp on every little thing to be right. John got of the car with Lady. He stood in front of the house in awe, he knew that is parents had to pay a lot of money to buy this house. He remembered the heated discussion that his parents had a while back about the house and how much that it put them behind.

John walked in the house passed his dad who was directing the movers where to put everything. He walked up the stairs turn to the right and walked down the hall to his room. His room was located at the end of the hall and his bedroom window looked out over the front yard. He could see his mom standing by the car next to the movers truck. The house was far from town, John noticed the long dirt driveway from the house that led to the pave road which could take you to town. He all so noticed the house was covered by woods as far as he could see from his bedroom window.

The realtor Mr. Wakefield showed up just as the last of the items were moved inside the house, he stepped in the doorway and yelled hello. Mr. Henderson came to the door and shook Mr. Wakefield hand.

So, I see everything’s going pretty good Mr. Henderson. I just came by to go over the small details about your new house.

First of all, call me Steve and let’s go ahead and take care of those details.

Mr. Wakefield opened up his brief case that had the folder he needed for Mr. Henderson. He looked over the papers inside the folder to make sure he wasn’t going to forget anything to tell him. Well, it looks like you have to sign here and the only thing I have to tell you is that you own the woods around your house a few acres. There is a trail by the side of the house that will take you in the woods, you all so own a cabin that is in the woods too.

All right, I think I got all of that where do I sign.

Mr. Wakefield showed him the line he was supposed to sign, handed him a pen and Mr. Henderson signed it. They both shook hands again and Mr. Wakefield put the papers back in the folder. He then place the folder back in his brief case and left the house.

John walked up to his dad as Mr. Wakefield was leaving, What did he want dad?

He was just tell me that we own some of the woods and a cabin.

That’s cool, so can I go play in the woods to find the cabin.

As long as you are careful. I believe the trail is over on the side of the house, it supposed to be a hiking trail.

Okay, dad I will make sure that I am careful.

Steve Henderson went in to the house to see his wife Cindy. He thought that maybe she might have some idea for supper. He loved his wife very much and hoped that with this new house things would be better for them. The other house they lived in before was a leaking ship, he always fought with his wife about how much the repairs cost. They couldn’t get ahead and nothing ever seemed to go their way. Their landlord was no help and when he put a bid on this house he couldn’t believe it when they called him. Now since he sign the last of the paper work this dream home was now theirs.

John went to the side of the house and found the trail to the woods. The trail was wide enough for a few people to walk on it. The trail led off down a small hill in to the woods. He could see that when the trail disappeared in to the woods, it was a little darker and looked spooky. He looked at the sun that was all most setting for the day. He decided that it would be better for him to go tomorrow in fresh daylight. He could explore more and take Lady with him. He made his way back in to the house to see what his parents were doing.

    Hey, mom where are you.

We are in the kitchen dear, deciding what to make for supper.

John walked in the kitchen and saw his mom at the stove. His dad was unpacking some more boxes putting the dishes away that he could find. John noticed that his dad was all so putting some can goods away in the pantry that was next to the refrigerator. John looked to his left and noticed the kitchen table and took a seat. He just sat when his mom said, Well, supper won’t be done for about 45 minutes. So go upstairs and put some of your bed together, instead of just sitting there.

John agreed and walked up to his room in a slow motion pace. The bed was already put up, so all he had to do was put his sheets and blankets on. His pillow was one of those long ones that would cover the length of the headboard. The pillow was green with a huge white S in the center of it. It was a gift from his grandmother who lived in Michigan. He hadn’t seen her in a few months but she always seemed to write to him. He was lost in thought thinking about his grandmother when his bed was finally made, since he still had time he started to unpack some more boxes. He was on the last box when his mom yelled at him that supper was done.

John ran down the stairs as fast as his legs would let him. The smell of the food made his stomach growl and move. He didn’t realizes how hungry he was until his stomach told him. He made his way to the dining room, where his mom had everything sitting on the dining room table. He could see mashed potatoes the real ones not the instant box ones, corn and the juices meat loaf he ever laid his eye’s on. Supper lasted about an hour, John was taking his time and filling his belly. He thought he couldn’t eat anymore, his mom brought in a homemade bake apple pie. He had a couple of pieces and felt over stuffed with all this delicious food. He was glad that it was Friday because he would have the whole weekend to play in the woods and do a lot of exploring. He all so needed a good night sleep.

The night brought a cool, nice breeze blowing through the woods. Cindy was standing on the back porch enjoying the weather. She never noticed that something on the out skirts of her eye site, hiding in the darkness watching her every move. The creature eyes were a dark color, its thick body hair was blowing in the wind and its razor sharp claws dug deeper in to the ground. The creature had special vision and could detect body heat, to the creature every human looked like the color red. This was great for the darkness because the creature could hunt at night without being detected. Cindy decided to take out the trash to the side of the house where the garage barrels were kept. She walked slowly and never noticed the creature getting closer to her. The creature was about to jump on her, Steve yelled from the back porch. Cindy hurried and tossed the garage bag at the barrels and ran to her husband. He opened up his arms and gave her a big hug. They both walked in shutting off the lights as they went.

The creature was furious and a low growl came from the creature. The creature went toward the garage bag sniff all around it. It smelled Cindy’s meatloaf what was left and devoured it in a single bite. The creature loved raw meat but this would do for now. The creature went back in the woods to the cabin, the creature curled up in a ball and fell asleep. The creature dreamed of the lab, where they kept putting huge needles inside the cage, making the creature cry out in pain. The creature would get mad but the doctors would do this every day. The doctors were injecting the creature with different K9 DNA and alien DNA. The creature eye’s started to change, its claws started to grow, it’s started to get more hair, the creature grew in size, the teeth of the creature turn razor sharp, the hungry of the creature grew and so did the blood lust. The creature became super intelligent that it plan its own escape. All these memories came back to the creature, he showed its teeth and gave a loud
