The Only Cause, Was of You - Diamond Crystal Hayes

    A SHOULDER YOU BROKE [7]

Never call a friend when you yourself know not how to accept a friend. Foolish it is to me for you to ask,

    Do I trust you?

The question fills me with laughter because jokes and riddles are for those who

live in a house of mirrors. Your eyes I can read, must I step back, for you are entering my space, which no one is allowed. Times are hard, so hard people do things at any cost to hurt others, for the tears they don’t see are there. Painful as I must say other people grounds are very easy to invade, as it is to enter the

United States. Remember the most favorite and helpful things of all, let not the tears of who you call close fall because one day you yourself will need a shoulder, for that shoulder you hurt may have the answer to that question no one else knows. So be careful of everything, especially someone’s treasure, their joy within!

    WAITING HAS NO END [7]

For nine thousand days have passed, cold as it could be. Here I sit upon a bench waiting while the cold wind blows my hair until it’s frozen as ice from the roof of a house. I warm my body with a sleeveless shirt, but the thought of you keeps my body as flames of blazing blue hot fire, which would take many

fire engines to release its temperature. Sweating, I must tell you, fall from my face as ice before hitting the floor, which was great for me because those were tears from my waiting so long. Movement of my flesh was very slow. Feet

Frozen, blood only throbbing in order to make it to its location. Afraid to move fast, for I myself might break as a glass and fall to many different pieces, which are not replaceable, but as I tell you, I will wait nine thousand more years until we are joined as one.

    COOL BREEZE [7]

As the approach appears while time passes, the struggle was worth the joy. Hold me with the embrace of the thought, which makes me feel you never wanting to let go. Seeing things that only I can feel jogs my memory to nothing but happy thoughts, I myself smile

without trying, for the soul of my inner being shines as the stars which lead mankind to the planets in which they look and search so long for. Racing for your support, I made it. Now I must rest and catch my breath because to me the journey has just begun. With

hope and understanding, the victory will always be with your hands upon me as the wind itself. Cooling my face as if I am waking from a beautiful morning sleep, washing my face with warm water that help me open my eyes to start the morning, gracefully Yes, you

shall be there, for the truth is in your precious dimples that create the only smile that runs chills upon my body, which pull a never ending laughter and smile in my heart.

THAT LIFE IS NO MORE [7]

Standing behind you, arms draped as curtains with the size that sweep the floor and drag the dust as you pull my strings to carry me up. Sometimes I watch you as I stand with hurt inside my mind, which cause the fall back from

life, the life that no longer I live anymore. Presenting you as my princess without a throne or a queen without a crown, there it stands upon your head, proud as you walk, I say to myself, there she is, a lady that walks so softly, but

leaves no prints, speak so softly, but leaves no anger, touches so smoothly, but does not break the skin, breathes so calmly, which is hard to feel the air from within your lungs. Every time I see your blue and gold rims, it lets me know

that you are my destiny who teaches me the things I carry each day from what I should have learned long ago.

    THE DISTANCE IS CLOSE [7]

Whenever you vanish from my sight I must hold it until the next time, which is short, but seems so distance. Never have I had such wild untamed feeling that I can recall, my feelings are to me as a wild stallion who is the leader of the herd, showing and guiding the rest to green fields of vegetation. I feel when you

are not around, as if I have been captured, fenced in with my land under your hands, my water in your barrels, my freedom cut off from life. By me being who I am, escape I do try, but many times failure is my accomplishment, having no one to break me free. I pound the ground with anger and hatred. Your

reappearance is as a drunk person stumbled themselves to feed me, but forgot to lock the fence. I wait until you are out of my sight; suddenly the distance is only inches away from you, which makes the proudest stand out until the next vanishing moment.

    EVERLASTING ENTRANCE [7]

Part of you, the part no one knows came to me without my asking; it boiled so long until the holding was so great. I came from a long ride with dust upon my heels, opened the door to make a silent entrance, no one looked up, which made me feel at home. The feeling that I felt was to me as I was being watched

by eyes of everlasting, everlasting is as something seen once that will never leave your vision. It is a wonderful thing, which keeps you relaxed and calm in speech. Never did I think someone could have me at their feet, but the bowing is so pleasing to me, I would stay at your feet to keep you and myself happy.

Being so low while at your sweet ten toes, looking up, I can only be thankful for that special part that I know and keep buried inside, which no shovel or machine can travel that far, whether it is in the earth or the emotions because this traveling has no end, for the
