Debi Garcia Ferry has been active in the local church since she came to know Christ as her savior in 1987. Starting as a Nursery Worker, she eventually successfully pioneered the first single parent ministry in Hosanna Christian Fellowship, in NYC in 1991. In 1992, Debi testified in a hearing at in New York City. that ultimately resulted in the changing of laws in favor of and for the purpose of protecting abused spouses. She has subsequently served as Deacon, Bible Study Leader, Singles Leader, Church Secretary, Sunday School Teacher and once having been Ordained; Missionary Minister to Alaska for 5 months. Debi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and has studied and practiced Biblical Counseling in various forms to Women wherever and whenever the Lord has led her. Currently, Debi resides with her husband and her cat in New Jersey. Of her life these days, Debi says, my second 50 years will be so much better than my first. Of her survival of her abuse and all subsequent blessings, Debi says. all the credit belongs to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gave me a reason for living.

    Dear Friends,

    Some of you reading this may be thinking, "How can she know what I’m going through, or even better, How can she know what I’ve been through? These are very good questions. If I were thinking about buying this book, I would be thinking the very same thing. I can recall hearing quite a few counselors and ministers talking about the long-lasting effects of abuse, and how to overcome them. And I thought, How can he or she know? Nobody knows what I’ve been through.

    I firmly believe that no one can truly understand where you’ve been and what you’ve been through unless they’ve been there. And even then, they will still not have been you!
