About this ebook

This book demonstrates, through the full text of the scriptures, that women have the same God-given rights as men to preach, teach, and serve in the same offices of the church as men, doing everything spiritually that men do according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul wrote, And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh in all But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will (1 Cor. 12:6, 11).
It also shows that the opposition against the women that are called to preach and teach the word of God is a calculated plan that is instigated by Satan to prevent them from fulfilling the will of God.

    Dedication

I dedicate this book to the late evangelist Daisy Brown of Buff Bay, Jamaica, West Indies, who taught me to love the Lord when I was a young boy spending time with my father. The Lord also used this woman to save my father who was very abusive. This is also dedicated to my dearest mother, the late sister Gwen, as she was affectionately called, who used to take me to churches all around to hear me sing at a very young age. I also want to dedicate this to all the women in the ministry who are preaching the gospel, in spite of opposition against them, and to my beloved wife, Cynthia, who has been very patient with me when I would wake her up at three and four o’clock in the morning, after I finished writing. Last but not least, I dedicate this book to all the women who encouraged and helped me with this work.

    Special Thanks

I give thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is first in my life, and to all these wonderful people who were the force behind me to continue writing this book. I want to say thanks to Pastor Dorothy Wilson, Rev. Marie Willis, and Rev. Charlene Paolucci, who persuaded me to continue writing and volunteered her time to help me. Rev. Ethel Harris who encouraged me not to give up. I also want to say a special thanks to Evangelist Miranda Alexander; and Sister Natalie Anderson, who motivated me to continue writing when I decided not to continue writing it; and Mrs. Verthelia Albany, who took her time to proofread it. Thank you very much for all your help. I love you all with the love of Jesus Christ!

    Preface

I started writing in 1985 and finished a small copy in 1986. I gave the manuscript to a printing firm to prepare it for publishing; I paid them $1,200. They gave me a few sample copies, for me to review. I review the copies and arranged to go back and get the manuscript; when I went back, there was a sign on the door that they had moved without any forwarding address. I got discouraged and decided to forget it. A few people read the sample and encouraged me to continue writing it; but I did not, until Rev. Charlene Paolucci read the sample and offered to help me, if I would continue writing it. She helped me with a small copy, but the publisher said it was too small for the subject, and I put it away again.

After many more years, Evangelist Miranda Alexander heard about it and read it. She also encouraged me to continue writing it, but I did not want to. Nevertheless, I took her advice and started writing again, and now I am just finishing again in 2008.

The initial thought regarding the mystery and freedom of God’s woman originally came to me as a topic for a message I felt I should preach. For two weeks, this subject kept coming up over and over again, and I just could not get it out of my mind.

Then one morning, on my way to work, I was listening to a sermon on the radio by a well-known preacher who was saying that God did not call women to preach. He went on to say that God used some women in the Old Testament, but not to preach, teach, or to be in leadership roles. I could not believe the unscriptural gender bias statements that were coming over the airwaves. It was at that moment that I felt compelled to write this book, and in doing this, I did extensive research in the scriptures to present these truths and I discovered the absolute freedom women have been given by God to do whatsoever he calls them to do.

In the great commission, the call was not just for men It was for both men and women who received the gifts of the Holy Spirit to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). There should be no argument about this commandment.

Some will argue because their belief runs contrary to scriptures and does not hold fast to the truth of the word of God. The scripture makes no such distinction that men alone should preach the gospel; this is a well-thought-out man-made gender bias that’s filled with men’s traditions.

There is no proof anywhere in the scriptures—neither in the Old or New Testament—that women should not preach.

Satan has created a conspiracy theory to discredit and prevent women from carrying out the will of God.

I will explain later why Satan has orchestrated this plan to go after the women preachers. There is a reason for this bias against the women, which I intend to develop as we go along. What we have seen in our churches is a well-planned scheme of Satan from the beginning to counteract the power of God in the women to expound the word of God, and those whom he is using do not know that they are working against the will of God. Only those who know the mystery of the woman and the potential capabilities of their strength can understand what Satan is doing. Judas allowed Satan to use him even when Jesus warned him, and these men are being used by Satan the same way to oppose the women preachers (Matt. 26:21; Lk 22). Satan had planned to use Judas to betray Jesus. The Bible said, And the chief priest and scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. Then entered Satan into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray Him unto them in the absence of the multitude (Luke 22:2&6).

When Satan wants to counteract God’s plan for the church, he does not use the sinner to do it; he uses people who are in the church. Satan uses people whom no one will suspect when he is coming in the church to create division.

Satan has to use someone in the church to do his evil work in the church. Are you one of them that he is using to destroy the plans and purposes of God?

The opposition against the women that preach the gospel causes divisions and stirs gender inequality and prejudice. We are the army of God, but we cannot overcome the army of Satan if we are opposing each other. How can we win the battle to propagate the gospel to the ends of the earth? This battle is not about man. It’s about the Lord Jesus Christ who gave his life for his church.

This battle is for souls, and God is the chief commander who chooses those whom he wants to fight in this battle to rescue the souls from the hands of Satan.

    Introduction

There are many ideas concerning the woman’s position in the church. However, if we believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, then those ideas have to line up with the entire scripture. I think we can all agree that taking a section out of context to make new ones is heresy.

The main purpose of this book is to demonstrate through the full text of the scriptures that women have the same God-given rights as men to preach, teach, and serve in the same offices of the church as men, doing everything spiritually that men do according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul wrote, And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh in all But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will (1 Cor. 12:6, 11).

Subsequent to this purpose, the body of Christ is to be unified. However, we must be willing to see and understand what the Word of God has to say about this unity and do whatever it takes to prevent division from occruing in the body of Christ.

This book is written to show that the opposition against the women that are called to preach and teach the word of God is a calculated plan that is instigated by Satan to prevent them from fulfilling the will of God.

In this book, I will also talk about other things that are affecting women in other areas of society, because throughout the ages women are treated with bias and gender prejudice, throughout the world.

Some people do not believe that women should be treated equally with men in everything, even when they perform the same task as the men. May I ask, is this right or fair in the sight of God?

There is a lot of talk about equal rights for everyone, yet some people are not talking about the rights of women to be treated as equal counterparts to men. It is said that all men are created equal in God’s sight, yet some have forgotten that the term men means all human beings and not just male. There are a lot of things that the women are going through, but I cannot address all of them in this book; nevertheless, I will do my best to bring to the attention of the readers the things women are going through, in general, both in and out of the church. In this book, I will try to validate and defend the authenticity of women preachers who are called to the ministry to serve with the men in every part of the body of Christ. I will also try to explore the mystery of the woman’s place with God after the Fall and show that the man does not have total control over the woman in everything—and that God has placed the woman in a far greater position after the Fall.

Because of the level that the Lord God placed the woman Eve in the Garden of Eden after the Fall, this gives the women today power through the gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest the will and purpose of God to do everything spiritually that men do.

After the Fall, the Lord God gave the woman the right and power to be in spiritual warfare with Satan and his seed and the woman and her seed. The scriptures are very clear concerning the rights of women to preach the word of God, yet there are some who do not honor the will and purpose of God concerning the prophecy which says that men and women would prophesy in the last day.

This is the will of God for women to prophesy, that’s why there were prophetess in the Bible, for God does not contradict himself.

You will see as you read this book that the women are fulfilling the will and purpose of God when they preach and teach his word. For they are called by God, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are given to all that the Lord has chosen, both men and women, to minister in the church.

The apostle spoke of the holy calling, saying, Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began; but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immorality to light through the Gospel (2 Tim. 1:9&10).

When we have love of God in our hearts, it teaches us to unite the body and not to divide it. Those who are of God will not oppose that which is God. There is a story of the impotent man, which Jesus healed on the Sabbath day. The Bible said, And the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to slay Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath day (John 5:16). These were the things that the religious people were doing to Jesus, for the good that he was doing to help the people that were hurting in sin and disease will say more about those religious people later in this book. Anyone who loves God and his word will not oppose those who are spreading the good news of the gospel being propagated, whether they are male or female; if we are the children of God, we will seek to build up his kingdom. This is what the gospel is all about, but a lot of male preachers who oppose the women preachers do not have the wisdom of God in the mystery of his kingdom and the true purpose of the gospel. To oppose anyone who is preaching the gospel is to fight against the will of God. The apostle Paul writes, But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory which none of the princes of this world knew; for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Cor. 2:7-8).

When we talk about mysteries, there are many mysteries in the Bible, but the mystery of the woman is the only one that a lot of people ignore because they do not know or understand the mystery of the woman; many do not see the woman as a mystery, she is spiritually transform by God to the likeness of human flesh took place in the body of a woman. This is the greatest mystery between God and man (see Isa. 7:14).

This is written to help all who will believe the truth of the word of God in full context of the scripture.

To understand the women’s position in the ministry of the church, we have to go back to the beginning with the woman Eve in the garden and see how God used the women mysteriously to come into the world, because God had been using the woman down through the ages to accomplish his will and purpose. As you will see, I traced the work of the women that God uses from the beginning to come into the world.

In these last days, everyone who loves the work of God should put away the evil of spiritual bias, gender prejudice, and evil traditions and hold steadfast to the unchanging, immovable Word of God.

In this book I will show how God used the women throughout the Bible to bring his word into the world; the women are not just involved with the word, they are always in it.

    Chapter One

    Before and after the Fall

In the ages before the Fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden, before the age in which theologians describe as the first dispensation or the age of innocence, the Lord God created two humans, a male and a female. There is no record in scripture about any other human existence, but Adam and Eve, the first male and female created by God as it is recorded in the book of Genesis.

The book of Genesis reveals the journey of mankind and all living things, plants and animals. In that dispensation, man was made to enjoy the beauty of Eden and was told by God to enjoy it and to keep it; and he blessed them and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and everything that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day (Gen. 1:28-31).

After that was done, God planted a garden eastward in Eden—and there he put the male-man whom he had formed (Gen. 2:8). And the Lord God took the male and put him into the Garden of Eden to till it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: But of the tree of knowledge of good, and of evil, you shall not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof you shall surely die (Gen. 2:16-17). After the Lord God put the man in the garden to keep it, he said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet fit for him . . . . And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept, and closed up the flesh instead thereof, and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man made He a Woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. And the man and his wife were both naked, and were not embarrassed or ashamed in each other’s presence (Gen. 2:18, 21, 22, 23, 25). This ends the dispensation of innocence. In that dispensation, the only thing that they had to do was to dress the garden and worship the Lord God when he came to them in the cool of the day (Gen. 3:8). But Satan beguiled the woman and caused she and her husband to sin. Some people believe that after the woman sinned and God cursed her, the man was given all power over her, but that is not quite true; all power was not given to the man over his wife. Let us examine the scripture in context. When the Lord God cursed the woman, he said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shall bring forth children, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee (Gen. 3:16).

It is very important to understand what the Lord God said to the woman at the time of her curse concerning her husband ruling over her; to understand what the Lord God was saying to her, we must look into the word desire, for that is the word that causes a lot of men to believe that the Lord God gave the man total rule over all the women. It is important to see that the Lord God told the woman it was because of her desire for her husband that he will rule over her. Why did he used the word desire? Because it was her desire for the forbidden fruit that caused her to sin against him.

Notice that he gave one specific reason why the man will rule over her, and it was her desire for him. The word desire in the Greek epithumia means craving, longing, or lust. These words are used for both good and evil. There are evil desires, and there are good desires, but the Lord God said it is her desire for the man that will let him rule over her; this did not give man rule over all women. This is only in a husband-and-wife relationship. Even in this relationship it is not just the woman who has this desire for her husband; the man has a desire for his wife also. Do you know that it was the man’s desire to please his wife that made him ate fruit? We must understand that it is our desire for righteousness that gives the Holy Spirit control over us (see Matt. 5:6). In general every woman has desires for a man, and also the man for the woman; that is the way we were made. The apostle Paul said, But I would not have you without carefulness He that is unmarried cares for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord but he that is married cares for the things of the World how he may please his wife. There is a difference also between a wife and a Virgin. The unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit; but she that is married cares for the things of the world, how she may please her husband (1 Cor. 7:32-34). What the apostle said in these verses shows that the men are doing the same things that the women are doing to please each other—except for the woman that is not married. If the curse of the woman was meant for man to have total power to rule over woman, then man would want to exercise control over all women even if they were not married, but that is not the case. Men have desires for women the same way women have desires for men. Having desire for the man was not the curse of the woman—it was mentioned at the time of the curse. Her curse was the multiplying of her pain at childbirth; that curse came upon all women as long as they give birth. Desires are for all; that is how we were made. It was in the will of God for the woman to have desires for the man and the man for the woman, that is why God despised sodomy. It was not his will for man to desire another man or for a woman to desire another woman, for this is confusion of the mind and abominations to the Lord (see Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Rom. 1:26-27). When the Lord God told the woman that her desire would be to her husband, it was simply because she had lost her desire for him when she yielded herself to Satan and ate the forbidden fruit. Before she ate the fruit, both of their desires were toward God; but when she ate the fruit, that changed everything—she lost her desire for God (Gen. 3:6).

Her desire for the fruit took away her desire for God. When the believers lose their desire for God, something else, controls them. It was not that God gave the man rule over the woman; it was because she was going to desire the man, and that is why he would rule over her. If she does not desire or love him, he would have no control over her.

Not long ago I was watching a program on TV called Divorce Court. A man filed for divorce from his wife. He said, I am divorcing my wife because she does not have any desire for me. She spends more time on the computer than she spends with me. He went on to say he still has a lot of desire for her, but he is tired of being rejected. When he wanted to go out and spend some time with her, she said she did not feel like going out. He went on to say, My wife does not love me anymore because she does not have any desire for me. That is a perfect example of what I am trying to bring to your attention; the woman’s desire is the
