    Foreword

MY WORK AS A PSYCHIC MEDIUM AND ENERGY HEALER has lead me to meet many interesting people. One who stands out is Cynthia Clark. I met Cynthia at a gathering of light workers in Colorado in 2013. Cynthia was new to the area and looking to meet new friends. We not only became good friends, but colleagues in our work.

I never had a full hand analysis consultation from a Hand Analyst Expert, complete with diagrams and important points explaining my strengths, personality, Life Purpose and potentials, until I worked with Cynthia. I find her work on palmistry to be both educational and healing. Cynthia was always interested in the study of palmistry using both the scientific and spiritual viewpoints.

I feel very fortunate to have read Cynthia’s first draft of this book. She makes it easy, even for someone who is a beginner, to learn about and understand the study of palmistry. She includes pictures of the hands in every chapter, to demonstrate each important area of study. The book even teaches you to read your own hands. You will never feel as though you are being left behind. I especially enjoyed the truth statements and hand mudras in each chapter so that I can balance myself whenever I need to.

Cynthia’s book is an easy step-by-step guide to understanding the complexities of both palmistry and Tarot. The way she blends Tarot and palmistry helps us to know ourselves to a greater degree. Not only our strengths and weaknesses, but also our health and overall outlook on life, as well as how and why we have certain tendencies. I found I could easily identify with the personality archetypes and some stood out such that I even felt an energetic resonance with them.

This book helped me to understand why I am a psychic medium. With each chapter I felt a deeper connection to my inner self both personally and professionally. It was emotionally nurturing. Cynthia’s passion for getting Stories in Your Hands published has been unwavering in courage and perseverance. Her message and desire to help people find their own life path has been a joy to watch and admire. Not only does this book teach us to know ourselves better but also the people we surround ourselves with. It helps you find balance in your life. There is something for everybody in this book. Read it in the comfort of your home or read it as a study group with your friends. It will help explain why we are like we are and how to be the best version of ourselves. Stories in Your Hands is a powerful book that will open your heart and mind to discover your hidden potential to create a life of joy and success. It is a book I will keep in my spiritual library as a reference tool and so will you.

    Introduction

INSIDE ALL OF US ARE STORIES. THESE STORIES INCLUDE our personality, our soul’s longing, our hopes and dreams, our mental and emotional expressiveness, and how our own personal reality is playing out. What are your stories? What stories would you still like to tell? Your palms hold the road map to these stories and to the rest of your life. You can think of your hands as extensions of your brain. The brain is more closely connected with the hands than with any other part of the body. Neuroscientists have confirmed that the lines in the hands mimic the neural pathways in the brain and that these lines change over time, a principle in alignment with the study of epigenetics. According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, author of The Biology of Belief, genes and DNA do not control our biology. Instead, DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell. These signals include messages from our positive and negative thoughts and emotions.

The study of palmistry, also known as chirology, is thousands of years old. The lines are the most complicated and changeable aspect of palmistry. The pictures below show the same hand over a three-year time lapse. The picture on the left was taken in 2009, the right in 2012. See how many differences you can spot.

Even if you don’t know anything about palmistry, a close inspection of these two photos reveals how much the hands can actually change over time. I would describe the picture on the left as stressed out. There are lines moving in every direction and several stress or challenge lines running from this woman’s thumb ball region across the hand diagonally. If you look at the second picture, you will notice that the lines overall are reduced and not as thick. Her thumb is quite weak in the first picture compared to the second picture, representing an increase in her willpower over time and her ability to make changes according to her desires. Her middle finger is straighter in the second picture. Any time a finger bends it indicates stress, and in the middle finger relates to worrying about making decisions. Horizontal lines in the fingers represent blockages and stress. You can see quite a few of these in the left picture and fewer in the right. Each section of finger actually represents a different area in your life, so analysis can become quite technical and specific depending on where a horizontal line shows up. We won’t explore the details in depth here, but just know that horizontal lines in the fingers display stress and vertical lines display flow. It is common for people to have both types of lines in their fingers. Here is the comparison again, this time with markings highlighted in the first picture.

Now we have an idea how the lines and fingers change over time based on our decisions and how we interact with our environment. How you think and feel, and even the chakras or energy centers in your body, reflect through your palm. By understanding how your map is reading, you can work with the information to make positive changes in your life in all areas: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Over time, your hands will reflect these changes. We’ve seen the possibilities in the hands of this woman, who transformed her life, reduced her stress, and aligned herself more deeply with her authentic self.

Other studies have been done with meditation and the brain. The work of Dr. Joe Dispenza, author of You Are the Placebo, proves that you can change your reality by changing your thoughts and emotions. Doctors in Japan and Korea are even testing the impacts of surgery on the lines in the hand in altering the future realities of their patients. Just imagine the possibilities of living a healthier, happier life if you understood the imbalances marked in your own hands and knew how to change them.

There are three branches to palmistry. Chirognomy (pronounced keer-og-no-mee) relates to the study of the fingers, palm and thumb and how they relate to each other. For the purposes of this book, I will be guiding you in chirognomy and line type identification. There is also the study of fingerprints and palmar prints, known as dermatoglyphics, derma meaning skin and glyphics meaning markings. These represent the permanent and unchangeable aspect of your soul, your soul imprint. Finally, chiromancy relates to interpreting line formations, partly for predicting the future. By understanding the meaning behind the hands, we learn to recognize aspects of ourselves and how they reflect in our fingers and palms. This knowledge empowers us, allowing us to write our own stories and watch how they impact our future. Isn’t it time we moved past the old, untrue dogma
