    FOREWORD

Most people in the body of Christ may not be aware of the role of angels in our lives and how vitally important they are to believers walking in the supernatural. I can't explain it any better than to just share that there are two worlds at work. One is visible, and the other is invisible. The two worlds work side by side. Our agents or helpers in the invisible world are the angels. The angels see everything in the invisible as well as the visible world. That is why they are called guardians. They are guarding and protecting us. When the Scripture says, Lest we dash our feet against a stone, in other words, when we would hurt ourselves, that's what the angels prevent. They really protect us, and most Christians don't have a clue that these guardians are at work on their behalf.

Most of the time we don't know how this process works because we haven't been taught or we don't study, and most of the time we don't care. We have to walk in conjunction or cooperation with the Lord to be Spirit-led. We become so accustomed to leading ourselves that we can't be led by the spiritual world of God. Always remember that the angels are sent to aid us, not to hurt us. Realize that they are not sent by you. They are sent by God. They are messengers sent to bring any message that God wants delivered. They are not at your call to receive instructions from you.

There are certain things that they can't do for you if you haven't given over your will to God. For example, if you are not willing to allow them to protect you and your family in certain areas, you might say without realizing it, I'm going to handle this. The angels will back off because you've already disarmed them by telling them that you were going to control the situation.

There was a song about angels that came out a few years. The title of the song is Angels Watching Over Me by the group Virtue. In one part of the song the lady is singing about how the angels are always there to protect. In another part of the song she says they even protect us when we really don't want to be protected. The singer continues to say that sometimes we wish they won't answer our call. Now why would a person make a statement like that? you may ask. What the singer is really saying is that sometimes we want to sin and we don't want the angels to stop us. That is basically the issue, but why would we handicap them when they know what they are called and sent to do for us? Let them keep you from sin! The Angels will keep you from stumbling, falling, hurting yourself and looking ridiculous in the Spirit because you won't receive their aid. We look at things like that and say, What! only because we don't know the roles of angels. We don't know their specific assignments for us, and we don't realize that they are assigned to help us in everything we may need. They also see the plans of the Devil. They see that the demons are lining up to cause us to fall, and they desire to warn us. The key is they're not going to pressure you and harass you. They are like perfect gentlemen.

This is the invisible world. We have become so accustomed to the physical world in things we can see, touch, and smell. You need to understand there are two worlds, and the angels are masters of the invisible world.

    INTRODUCTION

Over the years there have been thousands, perhaps millions of books written on the subject of angels. It appears we humans have been intrigued with the idea of them throughout the entire history of our existence here on earth. The first evidence of this comes with the father and mother of us all, Adam and Eve, in the garden when God put them out. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life (Genesis 3: 24).

So Adam and Eve saw the cherubim at the gate of their old home. Angels are seen in ancient artwork, folklore, and family stories. Many of these suggest that when you die, you will become an angel with a large pair of wings, or you will have an opportunity to sing in that great angelic choir up there in heaven, even though on earth you can't sing a lick!

In this book you will have the opportunity to perhaps learn something about angels that you never knew, and if that proves to be true, then I have accomplished my goal, one set by God (i.e., to inform the inhabitants of planet Earth that we are not alone in this great human experience).

Ironically this author does not remember seeing any angels on his many visits to the third heaven. This is because the angels are working on earth, watching over people here and protecting us from the hurts and pains that the Evil One can cause. Angels are mainly concerned with the people who love God, The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them (Psalm 34:7). However, they are also charged by God to protect the earth as well.

It is important to point out that there is a wide array of colors among the angels just as there are in mankind. Therefore, human beings who have visions, dreams, or glimpses of the Father, the Lord Jesus, or His angels may see them from the perspective of their particular race, ethnic, or cultural background. The Father may choose to do this to use what's familiar to each person so that he or she can relate and feel comfortable in the experience.

It is this author's hope that you will enjoy your journey through the pages of Angels They Live among Us and become part of the great universal family of God. If you do decide to become a part of God's family, your name will go on that list of people who will receive 24-7 protection, which is greater than what the US president gets from the Secret Service!

    CHAPTER 1

    ANGELS

    HOSTS

    ARMIES OF ANGELS

When talking about angels, it was my intention to show their function in various ways. Instead of just talking about them individually, I wanted to also discuss them as a group.

A host is a large group or army of angels used by God in different ways throughout the scriptures. In some instances we see them fighting while in other instances the angels are seen singing praises when Jesus was born.

Genesis 28:12--13 says, Then he [Jacob] dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: 'I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.'

    CREATED

Most of the time when we think about angels and them being invisible, it is hard to imagine that they were created also by Jesus, like we were. In the following verses you will see this to be true.

Psalm 148:2, 5 says, "Praise Him, all His angels¹; Praise Him, all His hosts ... Let them praise the name of the LORD, For He commanded and they were created."

Colossians 1:16 says, For by Him [Jesus] all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

    SPIRITUAL BEINGS

Because angels are spiritual beings does not mean that that they cannot be seen. This can be accomplished in two ways. One way is that the Holy Spirit can open your spiritual eyes so that you will be able to see
