M Y ADVENTURE INTO THE TRUCKING WORLD CAME ON THE HEELS OF A RECENT DIVORCE. WITH MY SON GROWN, A LIFESTYLE CHANGE WAS IN ORDER. I EMBRACED THE TRUCKING WORLD WITH NO CLUE WHAT I WAS GETTING INTO.

Through my adventurous 18 years as a trucker, I have traveled every interstate in the U.S., and too many back roads to mention, many times over through all types of weather. I have seen many new roads built, and cities grow and change.

Truck driving school was a big challenge for me; I was still on crutches (following seven years of being unable to walk without aide, much of that time in a wheel chair) when I started school. I attended weekends and by the time I completed school, I took my first steps in seven years without aids. It was exciting and scary at the same time. The school truck had no power steering, and the clutch was difficult to push down, but I did it.
