    Introduction

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as new born babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 1st Peter 2

At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release of debts, and this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his or her neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the Lord’s release. Of a foreigner you may require it; but you shall give up your claim to what is owed by your brother… Deuteronomy 15

(Things that make you go hhhhmmmmm)

A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but a fool’s wrath is heavier than both of them.

A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a person’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel. Proverbs 27

Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins. Proverbs 10

Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the daughters.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down in his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Sustain me with cakes of raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am lovesick.

His left hand is under my head and his right hand embraces me. Song of Solomon 2

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to break down, and a time to build up, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to… Ecclesiastes 3

When I feel as though I am losing hope, I think of things like the words in this portion of Psalm 147. What can’t a God that calls each star by its name and a God whose understanding is infinite not do? I know He knows all my needs so I will wait. I will regain hope and wait. Lord, thank You for a word that encourages us and helps us to be patient and wait on You, in Jesus' name, Amen. CMS

    Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;

shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness,

    and rivers in the desert.

The beast of the field shall honor me, the dragons and the owls:

because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert,

to give drink to my people, my chosen.

    This people have I formed for myself;

they shall show forth my praise.

    —Isaiah 43:19-21

I am ready for all the great things God will bring into my life.

Some new things and some changes, some maybe uncomfortable

but all will be for my spiritual promotion.

Life is a constant new & old, life & death, stop & start, laugh & cry, good day, bad day, when life becomes just one thing, no changes just a continuous sameness, well, then it becomes boring and hopeless but change comes to challenge us, to make life interesting and filled with purpose, living this life is a journey that can be full of adventure and intrigue to keep us interested and interesting to keep us alert, responsive, growing. We are not usually comfortable with change, with challenge, with discomfort, with hard discipline but once we accept it and put our ego aside, control our ego, once we realize that change will take us to a higher place, position us to win, we accept the change for it brings growth, and newness, and wisdom coupled with understanding. It opens our eyes in incredible ways and then we grow. It brings us to a higher place of growth, a place of joy, a place of greater understanding of things in life. Be ready for change in your life. Nothing stays the same, we must strive to grow. Either we grow worse, bad or we grow great, awesome, better, amazing. Growth will come but we have to choose how we will grow. Break/change some rules, or habits, or norms, think of doing something different and just do it!

Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth

    will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed;

lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

    —Psalms 61:1-2

Today, I will call on my Father all day: at work, at play, in the train,

in the bus, at home, at the gym, wherever I go. Today, I will allow myself

to be constantly conscientious of God and His love and sacrifice for me.

When I feel overwhelmed, I will whisper His name, Jesus, for strength

and peace. This New Year, I will remember Jesus more often.

We present ourselves as strong, smart, handsome, pretty, pleasant to the people we encounter in public places but inside our minds, hearts, body we know the truth that we are sad, broken, insecure, we have secrets, we think we are ugly, we feel inadequate, we think others are perfect and we are so imperfect, we want to hide in a box or a closet and yet little do we know the other person feels the same way.

When you are feeling down and weary, sad and lonely, then try to quiet your mind, meditate and breath in deeply and breath out, take a moment to remember the truth of who you are, you are a magnificent, spirit and soul, with a magnificently made body and an awesome mind. Your insecurities are just a tiny part of you, your insecurities are just a minute part of you. You are breathing through a transformable spiritual being that can cause change at any time, good change, change your mind and change your life. Give tomorrow a chance to come and shine a new light on your concerns. Say a prayer to the great Spirit even if you don’t believe in Him. If its your last resort of hope then just do it. Don’t give up on the one and only amazing creation that you are. There is not another one in all the universe. Live to see your great potential. Wake up with great expectations and walk right into it. God is real, He made you and He is just waiting for you to accept who you are so He can help you fulfill your amazing destiny. Come on walk into your greatness already, start living life today.

    HUMILITY

Many people throughout most of their lives do not exhibit HUMILITY. To not be so caught up with yourself and to be more concerned about others does not come easy for many. But that is one of the main requirements for us humans, as spiritual beings to do, to consider others more often, to check and see if your fellow man/woman is okay, to make sure your circle, the people in your proximity are fine and then to consider the well being of those not so near. Ponder on this.

For this exact reason I believe many people do not like to connect with their spiritual self, their spiritual side, it will require of you to be more self less, to reach out to others weather you like them or not, weather you know them or not. To see someone looking sad on the street and to say to that stranger, excuse me but are you ok? Then you are obligated to extend yourself and share a cheerful word with them or smile with them or take them to get some food if they are in need of that, so now you have come out of your selfish self into your selfless self and you have encouraged your fellowman, such a high calling, such a hard thing to do, such a sacrifice and yet after you have feared and dared to do it…….oh what a feeling. But mostly we would not take that chance of just loving a stranger and when we cannot do that we can’t even show that love and encouragement to our own family. We can definitely do that and more for our children but in that I say there is no sacrifice, no extra honor in that, that comes automatically with being a parent. Make an effort to treat others with love and tenderness, with understanding and patience, therein lies the sacrifice, the growth, the blessing.

Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for thou shalt judge

the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.

    —Psalms 67:4

A new year and a new promising president. New hope, new mercies,

new expectations. Thank God for newness. New gives us another chance to try again. Today is the first day of the rest of my life,

and I will make it a new beginning.

(In honor of the first African descent American president, the year 2009)

So many people say it will never happen, it has not been done before, a person of African descent to be president of the USA. Yet it happened, something new and unexpected. So many doubted and yet so many voted for him, maybe even some doubters voted for Mr. Obama. Yes, something good and new can be refreshing and full off hope for a better today, a better tomorrow, we cannot change yesterday but we shore can have an impact on today and tomorrow and create change. You can change for better anything in your life that is not good. Just by recognizing the wrong and wanting to change it for better the seed is planted in your spirit and with prayer and supplication to God because of your desire to change you will do things that will bring about those necessary changes and God will do His part in helping you into a better tomorrow.

    Without counsel purposes are disappointed:

But in the multitude of counselors they are established.

    —Proverbs 15:22

Oh, Lord, guide me to good counselors so that I may make wise decisions with the finances You give me, with the children You gave me, and with everything You have provided me with, so that my life would honor You, in Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.

Young people, trust that you don’t know nor do you understand this world or the world around you enough to ignore the counsel of your elders. Find someone you can trust and ask them some life questions, ask them about life and love and envy and money and real estate and about their life story. Ask them now while you are young so that you may learn early and act sooner on things they delayed and missed in their youth, ask them today so your tomorrow will be brighter and filled with wisdom, understanding and smart decisions. Ask them questions about the spirit of man, the mind, the body even the soul, listen to their opinions and then form yours as you live life, as you read books, as you scan the internet and as you learn things of life and as you experience that unique journey that you alone will know as your life.

Your youth is the time to be mostly silent and learn. Its a time where you will start choosing what kind of grownup you will be. Its a time to study and learn so your decisions will be founded on your understandings as you apply wisdom. Your ego is still at a stage where it can be disciplined and shaped, your ego is at a state that if you hone your God Spirit now which lies inside of you, you will be a great grown up. Balance should be your objective. Ego balanced with the God Spirit in us makes for a great human being. Everything will be better and brighter, clearer and smoother for you in your journey if only you acknowledge your ego and your God spirit self.

This is the writer’s understanding of things, you must study to find your own understanding and truth of things. You will agree with the writer or you will find more truth to share with the writer and the world.

    2nd Timothy 2:15 (King James Version(KJV) says,

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (The Bible is amazing, read it).

Every good gift and every perfect gift is

from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

    —James 1:17

Today, I will consider my shoes, my clothes, my eyes, my tongue, my hair, my brain, and my home. I will consider the air I breathe, the water I drink, my children, my family and friends, and I will remember that every good gift is from God. Today, I am just thankful.

What is the ego. I believe the ego is that part of us, we human beings that God created to balance our God spirit. Meaning that as God created us so amazing and perfect in His sight and in His likeness, He realized that we will automatically love our creator, our parent, our maker instinctively so He in His amazing loving and unselfish ways did not want us to love Him by force, obligated because we came from Him so He created the ego, the self, the part of us where His spirit does not live. The ego is not really a bad element but by itself it does not have neither common sense nor goodness. So now we have a choice to live through our ego only or couple it with the Spirit of God that lives in all of us also or ignore the Spirit completely and live only through our ego. Living through our ego causes us to live a selfish, mean, nasty, evil, sometimes demonic life. Living through the ego alone allows the evil spirit of Satan to penetrate our lives and control it all the while we, self, ego thinks its us that is powerful, great, amazing, all powerful, the only great person alive, the all knowing person etc.

But living through the Word of God, the Spirit of God, the wisdom & understanding of God coupled with our self/ego we grow into more perfect human beings, we live an enlightened life, we see the roses, the flowers, the rain, the sun, the beauty of life in ourselves and in others, we walk in our assigned amazing journey to our God assigned destiny. Choose to tap into, to connect to your Spirit self, to the Spirit in you. What a wonderful creature you are.

Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

    —Psalms 23:5

I am confident today. I will not be concerned about my job and its security. I will trust in God. Even in the midst of trouble, I have to remember that God is really in control of my life and of the direction my life will take. God will prepare a table for me wherever He wants to. I am His favored child. Amen.

Imagine you yourself in a mental and spiritual state where you know that you are special and precious to your maker, that He is real and He holds you in His spiritual arms and He rocks you like a baby, kisses you and tells you He loves you and will always take care of you as long as you abide with Him and in His counsel, what a comfort, what a great sense of security to feel loved and protected and safe. Well that’s our God, He has great promises with expectations in the bible for us. What a great joy and peace to know we are never alone, the spirit that God is will always be with us. Amen. Choose God, His Spirit will abide with you always.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth

    of fools pours forth foolishness.

    —Proverbs 15:1-2

Lord, help me to know when to talk and when to keep quiet.

Help me to take the high road and speak softly when others yell,

help me to think before I speak, and help me to listen more than I speak,

help me to use good judgment at all times.

    Amen.

The ego. That thing in us that was given no rule or power, knowledge or understanding, that thing so tiny, and yet when we don’t tap into the ocean of our Spirit self, the ego thinks of itself as powerful and all knowing so when its time to do the RIGHT thing or the thing I (ego) want to do, we have to now do what the tiny foolish ego wants. Do the right thing or do what I want to do. In the moment of decision, for an instant the problem becomes a great dilemma but because we, the individual, lives daily through his or her ego the battle is won by the ego and so what I (ego) want to do is what wins. Not the right thing but what my wrong and strong ego wants to do.

We sharpen our lives daily in the ego state when we refuse to tap into our Spirit self and sharpen that part of us by applying wisdom, by studying to acquire understanding so that by the time we are much older we are stuck in our failures, sometime the failure is not financial, but then now we have to live with ourselves and ask the question, where did I go wrong. We can have lots of money but no joy, no happiness, no peace. People around us don’t care for us because our ego has always ruled in our lives and now it has no genuine goodness to express. A dead spirit and a very live and limited ego.

Please choose spirit, choose and hone your spirit, sharpen your spirit from young and if you are not so young it is not too late to start, its just so much harder than when you were young but you can do it.

Start that journey to discover your true self, that spirit self you were brought into this world to be and to make the world a better place because now on this new journey, if you are true to it, it will make you love people, it will make you help people, it will make you peaceful and happy and joyous too. Get ready to meet your true self. Encourage a stranger who is your neighbor.

In you, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline your ear to me, save me. Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me. For you are my ROCK, and my fortress.

    —Psalm 71:1-3

When I faint in my spirit, I know renewed strength is on the way because God is always looking out for me. Even when I lose myself in distress because of this or because of that. What a wonderful God. If I do a free fall in my spirit, I know He will catch me.

That is grace and mercy! Unwarranted love. Thank you, Jesus! Amen.

See the thing is, if you make a cake and the whole world say you did not make that cake but you know you made that cake and you made it from scratch, bought all the ingredients, toiled in the kitchen and came up with a wonderfully tasting cake, you dressed it with amazing home made icing and then you took the time to decorate it and when it was finished you said ahhhh, wow this is a beautiful cake and it taste so good, I did a good job, I am so proud of my beautiful cake and then you shared it with others and it was so good and so lovely that those you shared it with said to you, you did not make this cake, its too marvelous, you did not make this cake. Now you are so sad and disappointed that they cant believe you made this amazing and wonderful cake so now you wait hoping that one day they will realize that there is no one else to thank for the cake but you. And when they come to you and thank you for the cake you simply embrace them with love and say you are welcome I have more cake for you.

Because someone does not believe the facts does not change it from fact to fiction.

Because God the Almighty Spirit made us, he knows us and He exists no mater what we do or say, whether we believe it or not, if the flowers and the trees and the ocean and our nose and our lips and our eyes are too wonderfully made for us to believe the Maker made it all then just know that whenever we decide to tap into our spirit self and connect with the God Spirit we will know the truth and we will accept it and live a more purposeful, joyful and happy life.

Add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness LOVE.

    —2 Peter 1:5b-7

All He wants us to do is Love one another. Sometimes it’s just so hard to love some people and yet if we dear to obey, we will make that extra effort, extend ourselves, and just Love. Sometimes it is actually easy to do it, but we make it hard. Today, I will love everybody. I don’t have to tell them, I just have to allow love to be in my heart. Today, I will even love strangers.

In this life we have to make a conscious effort to force ourselves to be the best possible human we can be. Every minute of the day, every day, we have to consider our actions and make a choice to do the right thing, anything other than the right thing is the wrong thing. Sometimes that decision is hard but doing the easy wrong thing will not make it the right thing to do or I should say, doing the easy ego thing will not make it right.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help? My help

your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel

shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

    The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;

    He shall preserve your soul.

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth,

    and even forevermore.

What does all of this mean? The Lord’s got this. He got this.

It’s not too great, too big, too large, too deep, too difficult. He got this.

    I know He got this.

He can handle this, He is handling this.

Ungratefulness is a terrible thing. When someone does something unusual and big and amazing for you and you pretend as though it’s nothing, as though you could have done that for yourself and so you do not show gratefulness, humbleness and appreciation towards that person, you don’t say an honest, thank you and show them that you appreciate the help, it not only disappoints them but it makes you a small person, a small spirit, a small creature with no might. Think about it. You were made to be great and awesome and you make yourself small and show yourself as insignificant. That is no way to reach your assigned destiny and potential.

Your life is waiting for you to rise up and be great. Do the right thing. Just do it. fight your ego.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

    Praise the Lord!

    —Psalm 150

To praise the Lord in His sanctuary. Hhmm. So many of us were raised in

the church. Sometimes we felt it was too much church. But today

so many parents in our neighborhoods don’t take their children to church but

    are complaining that their

    children don’t listen

to them, girls having sex and having babies at thirteen and fourteen and younger,

boys packing guns and doing drugs, refusing to listen to their parents.

Yet when I ask the parents, "Have you been taking them to church? Do you take your family

to church? The response is no."

It’s not to say attending church is going to solve everything, but it will help solve some things.

It may give the church community a chance to aid the parents,

The preached word may change a heart,

Activities may keep the children distracted from mischief.

Maybe if we show them the road, when they lose their way, they will

know which road to look for to find their way.

    Just a thought.

Observe, listen, learn, meditate on it, sleep on it, analyze it and then tomorrow talk about it if it will help, other wise shut up about it. Find something else to do rather than talk about it. Leave it alone. Open your mouth to teach, to guide, to converse good conversation, to laugh not to hurt and gossip or lie about and destroy. Tomorrow you will see yourself empty and silly. What is FAITH?

Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen.

    —Hebrews 11:1

For by fa( IT )h the elders obtained a good testimony.

    —Hebrews 11:2

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,

for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is

a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

    —Hebrews 11:6
