Joseph Jackson whose pen name is JoJo was born in Rochester NY. At a young age he was moved around from group home to foster home. At the age of 15 he found a passion for writing that helped him escape the harsh realities of the real world. As he grew older in the system, he turned to a lifestyle that landed him in and out of jail. During his last jail sentence of 10 years Joseph decided that he needed to make a change. Taking his life experiences Joseph began to create his own world with his pen. He aims to share stories like his so that others can learn from the mistakes that he made. “The streets don’t love no one and if I can get through to one person and change their life, my job is done.” -JoJo

DEDICATION

Homeward Bound Reflections is dedicated to the heroes of my life; my dad and mom, who raised me to be the person I am, my mother-in-law, who taught me, THE LORD ALWAYS PROVIDES, my Aunt Nancy, who always encourages me, and Evelyn Caudill, who made an impact in my life in the short time I knew her. Thanks, most of all, to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who walks with me through this journey of life.

PREFACE

There is a time, I can recall, when my husband and I were doing hospital visitation for our pastor. We had gone to visit someone in the hospital. Her prayer was to be released from the hospital and go home. My husband asked me if I wanted to pray and I did. So, I prayed she would go home. When we got out of her hospital room, he asked me, Do you know what you just prayed for, and my response was yes, I prayed for her to go home. He said, You prayed for the Lord to take her home. He explained when I prayed that way; it meant going home to be with the Lord. That’s not how I meant it, but it could have been taken that way. From this day forward, I think before I pray.

Homeward Bound Reflections speaks about my journey with the Lord. It gives hope to those who are hurting, light to those in darkness, hope to those going through storms, but most of all, it gives the promise of eternal life with the Lord. Just as the prayer of going to our earthly home in the paragraph above, I have a yearning to go to my eternal home with the Lord.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
