    Foreword By Peggy McColl

Author of 11 books including her recent Best Seller, Darn Easy

The title of this book is brilliant…Go Big AND Stay Home. If that is something you would love to do, then you are in the right place and at the right time. There has never been a better time in history to run your own business from the comfort of your home. Tracie will show you how to have that experience be seamless and enjoyable while honoring your hearts’ desire in business.

More than 20 years ago I was sparked with an idea to incorporate my own business and run it from the comfort of my home. The idea was fanned into flame and became a mission and became my life. And, from this, I created a profitable business that continues to grow positively in revenue, profit and reach.

Starting a business was not something that I was trained to do. My own parents were hard working and dedicated employees of other businesses and having a role model for entrepreneurship or guidance on what was required to start and build a business was not something that I was exposed to. In fact, my siblings and I were discouraged from continuing our education because my family didn’t have the funds to support that desire. Nor were we encouraged to step out of the norm and pursue our passion by running our own business.

Now that I have created my own business, and have run my own business for more than twenty years, I feel grateful every single day. The benefits are endless. To wake up every single day and feel blessed to do meaningful work, serving and sharing people in the world who benefit from your knowledge, experience and wisdom is truly fulfilling. I also love and appreciate how having a successful business has a ripple affect and positively impacts those around you.

As Tracie will share with you in her wonderful book, it really doesn’t matter where you come from, your education or your background, if you have the desire, you can create anything. Follow her guidance, suggestions, and recommendations, learn from her brilliance and most importantly … apply it. When you do, you will experience the positive side of having greater and greater success. My only wish for you, is total success while you are ‘Going Big.’

    Introduction

Moving to Las Vegas, Nevada at five years old felt scary and overwhelming for this small town girl who was born in Cody, Wyoming, with a population of 3,000. After the culture shock wore off, it took some time for me and my family to adjust to life in the big city. Our hearts longed for the safety net of friendships we were blessed with in Cody.

This is a story about a small town girl who grew up in the big city and embarked on an extraordinary life of self-discovery, in order to find her unique calling for helping others to succeed and prosper.

In Cody, it was safe for my brothers George and Todd, and my sister Mary and I to play outside with the neighbors. We all played together. Everyone knew each other. Todd and I being the youngest were always on a mission to keep up with our older sister and brother, Mary and George. We did the usual small town things kids did to have fun and play. We rode our bikes, enjoyed swinging on swings, and visiting our favorite neighbor, Seddi, to eat yummy goodies like spiced gumdrops. In the winter we spent our time on the ski slopes and our snow covered yard. We never worried about being safe. Everyone looked out for each other in our wonderful small town. Las Vegas didn’t feel safe when I was a little girl who didn’t know anyone.

I started kindergarten in the big city as the new kid. I was painfully shy and didn’t have any friends. The thought of going to a new school in a brand new place was terrifying for me. My parents had to carry me across the street kicking and screaming, and force me to go to school. As soon as my parents dropped me off, my teacher would cart me off to the nurse’s office because I wouldn’t stop crying. The nurse tried to help and find out if there was anything wrong with me. There was. I was scared about being a stranger in a strange land. But the nurse couldn’t help me with that. As tears rolled down my cheeks, I thought to myself, I’m not sick, I’m afraid and I don’t have any friends here.

My Mom helped me through this troubled time with a book I came to cherish and appreciate. Momma read, A Fun Day at Kindergarten, to me every night at bedtime. I loved the book, because I got to sit on my Momma’s lap, where I felt safe. It helped me make the transition into kindergarten.

Later in life, I asked my Momma, How did I finally get over being so upset and stop hiding in the house when it was time to go to school? She reminded me it was because I had finally made a friend. She said, Once you made that one friend you were happy about going to school. It changed everything for you. Neither one of us remembered that one friends name, probably because I quickly made many more friends after that.

As the years passed, I discovered that making new friends was like breathing air and drinking water for me. I needed relationships to survive. Making friends was important to me. I enjoyed nurturing and growing relationships. It came naturally to me. Relationships made me happy. Eventually, they became the central theme to my life. I am starting this book with my story, in an effort to show how my special gift for relationship building eventually became my unique way of helping others get what they want out of life.

My parents were my greatest teachers who led by example. I learned about the importance of relationships and how essential it is to stay connected and in touch with the people you love and care about. They had friendships that stood the test of time and lasted a lifetime, 70 years and more!

I consider my friends to be earth angels sprinkled throughout my life. They consist of people I’ve known since I was born, as well as new friends who are kindred spirits I feel like I’ve known for many moons.

In the winter months, snow skiing was
