    About the Author

    Foreword

If you happen to know Delice Coffey, then all I can say is that you should count yourself lucky. She is a woman with a strong combination of qualities that everybody finds admirable. She is a business lady and a former athlete herself. Delice is an enthusiastic individual who never gives up when faced with a challenge. I met her during a signing that I was doing at the Dallas Cowboy Store. From the time she stepped into the store, I could tell there was something special about her; she oozed confidence as she approached me. After buying one of my autograph photos, she told me about a book that she was working on and wanted to know if she could talk to me about it later. Despite the fact that these words sounded familiar, and often nothing came out of such endeavors, I had a good feeling about this one. We proceeded to chat, and eventually, we exchanged contact information. Since then my journey with Delice has been nothing short of inspiring.

When she called upon me to write a foreword for her book, you can imagine how delighted and honored I felt. As an admirer of her work, I can certainly vouch for this book. This book is the second in a series of five. She launched The Athlete’s Guide to Peak Performance Series- Building Confidences and a Relaxation & Imagery download in 2015 which are also excellent resources for helping athletes. This book is special to me because I hold the contents close to my heart as an athlete. Sometimes I actually wonder why such books never existed while I played for the Dallas Cowboys. The book is amazing and inspirational, and it would have been great to have it during the time that I led the team with 222 tackles or when I made history by becoming the first rookie in Cowboy history to start at middle linebacker; just image how much more I would have done with a book like this. Back then things were really intense, and we excelled off pure raw talent and guts. A book like this would have surely been a God-send.

This self-help book is a real motivator for athletes and is the tool they need to focus more as they avoid the social distractions that exist today. When you focus, you win championships, and this book shows you exactly how to do both. Today’s athletes on all levels can benefit from this book. This is why I highly recommend it to everybody in any sport. This book is a tool for bringing out the champion from within. If you are an athlete that want the cutting edge while maintaining a balance between focus and distractions, then this book is the best thing you could lay your hands on. It teaches you various aspects of mental toughness and mental game preparation as ways to reach your full potential in your sport. The book teaches you how the various aspects of your mentality can be harnessed to help you attain your goals through focus and concentration. Knowing that this is an area that most athletes struggle with, and yet it is a fundamental component in winning and in team work, I would highly recommend this book because it is a goldmine of opportunity and experience for athletes today.
