‘A penny for your thoughts.’ Startled, Melissa glanced up to see the familiar face of a neighbour.
‘Ah the boy from Brisbane is back.’
‘You mock me. I’ll always be the boy from Bangalow.’ She smiled.
‘Haven’t you taken up rowing and decided to study law? Both decisions influenced by that posh boarding school in Brisbane?’
‘Both pursuits will enable me to live a comfortable life. I’ll get to spend time on the water, (which I love),’ he declared with emphasis, ‘right the wrongs of the world and one day drive a Beemer.’
