About this ebook

Some conspiracies are real.

After dedicating decades of his life to plans for a permanent world order, Mr. Burns finds himself ill, and near the end of his days.

In his eccentric train car office, the wealthy and powerful Mr. Burns is greeted by his new apprentice named Edgar. Before Edgar can meet the committee, Burns lights up a fat cigar and begins to explain pertinent details about The Faction and an elaborate plan called Tentacles.

Enter Mizuki, the Old Man's sultry Mistress. During her brief visit to the office, Edgar is smitten; and the visit is telling: the plot has something deeper it's hiding.

In the beginning, Tentacles sounds brilliant to Edgar. However, when Burns reaches a part of Phase Three in the discussion, Edgar isn't able to wrap his mind around it.

"Sir, surely they are fooling you with sleight of hand, illusions or something..."

Offended by Edgar's lack of trust, Mr. Burns chooses to assert his power to provide clear evidence. What he does will change Edgar's world forever.

Edgar also has a dark side, and even though he is young, he has ambition and know-how that might surpass that of Mr. Burns...

and change your world too.

Author

Robert Kimbrell

As a lonely only child, Robert could mostly be found drawing or writing in a mid-sized Ohio town. Since those days in the early seventies, he has battled painful moments and depression. Now he is happy, where he wants to be, and telling the stories he is meant to tell. His other interests include reading, motorcycle touring, fitness. So why vampires? "I'm not entirely sure. I know there are times when the bloody theme of vampires is overdone. When it struck me one day to use vampires as a basis in the story, I saw the many avenues the story could take. The coffin was nailed shut on the decision when I realized the conduit a vampire could be for a vigilante. And also, a woman with fangs is frickin' sexy." But Annie is a hybrid, a dhampir? "That's right. She began life as full human, and she had a horrific life starting out. But inside her was a secret waiting to appear when the time was right. When it did come out, she had very little time to figure out how to deal with the new her." I'm thinking some of the topics are, what should I say, strong for some? “Sure, for many, the story of Annie is a slap to the face. I am not writing to be controversial, but I also will not be politically correct and afraid of riding parallel to the truth. There are real evil things going on in the world today, and instead of recognizing the objective truth and seeking solutions, we keep bogging ourselves down with doing the same things that get us nowhere. Maybe we need more vigilantes. I am writing the way I tend to act, and that is blunt and to the point. Not rude, however. Not normally (Laughs). To the point is how I am. It is who I have become to deal with the time I have lost. I used to be shy and timid, and I still fight that tired old me occasionally. But life is too short to be pulling weeds when you should be planting trees."

When Mr. Burns Dies - Robert Kimbrell

    From the Author

When Mr. Burns Dies mostly takes place in the eccentric office of Mr. Burns himself. Other mini stories within are a snapshot in time, as it relates to Mr. Burns, The Faction, and the Tentacles conspiracy. Though names, events, and situations have been altered, certain elements of this story are real.

As we know, there have been many conspiracies throughout history, some of them true.

One true conspiracy originated during the time J. Edgar Hoover was FBI Director. He saw the spread of communism in the U.S. and sought to put a stop to it with a program called COINTELPRO. But the tactics used were underhanded and had further reach than the goal of halting communism. COINTELPRO also targeted the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King JR. was tracked, had his hotel room bugged, and more. Finally in 1971, a group of eight activists broke into an FBI field office and found documents, exposing the truths of COINTELPRO.

To develop chemical and biological weapons during the cold war, a CIA program was begun named MKUltra. As you can imagine, the program expanded. The following research was done:

to cause confusion and shock to subjects for extended lengths of time

to produce leg paralysis and other disabilities

    to initiate amnesia in individuals

to enable individuals to withstand torture during brainwashing and interrogations

to more easily initiate hypnosis and expand its purposes, and more.

In short, at least two people died in these horrific mind control experiments.

How did the CIA accomplish this? Front companies were created to work with hospitals, universities and prisons. The Church Committee was able to uncover this top secret program before CIA director Richard Helms destroyed the files in 1973. The conspiracy was real.

In today’s world, many times people seek to call any story they disagree with, or any story that seems unrealistic in their view, a conspiracy. They do this in order to automatically dismiss the story as false, criticize the messenger, downplay the message, or because they have no real argument to the contrary. Of course, using the term conspiracy does not mean that something is automatically false, that is not the definition of the word. In any claim or hypothesis, one should seek truth as far as it can be determined at the time, whether it leads to a conspiracy or not. Truth should always be valued, it is a basis for self-respect and a civilized society. In a world where truth is devalued, citizens are prone to act like wild animals.

We know power holds an attraction for some, and when leaders and politicians have nearly unlimited resources with which to wield that power, peace and freedom for the people are threatened. Yes, power corrupts, and by nature evil feeds itself. The resulting implosion equals destruction. Because there will always be those who seek power and control over others, it falls on those of us who value freedom to fight them. May you always have the will to fight The Faction.

    Be blessed with liberty.

    Yours truly,

    Robert Kimbrell

    Prelude

Gaston, what are you doing behind the school? The bell is about to ring!

He was crouched down with his back against the freezing hardness of the brick. Four of his first-grade classmates stood in an unintentional semi-circle around him. Winter temperatures caused his tears to sting his face, but he wasn’t embarrassed by his display of sadness. He was only afraid.

Why don’t you have a coat on? the only girl of the group said. She was the sole tomboy of the class and first to spot Gaston while playing tag with the boys. When she looked closer, she saw the reason for his hurt. One by one they each noticed it.

At first no one knew what to say, then the boy named Lucas made a guess. Did Merideth and his gang do that? Merideth was nearly eleven years old and the leader of a large group of bullies that had gone without discipline.

    No.

The girl squatted down next to him. Your eye must hurt mighty bad. Her voice lowered, and with the innocent compassion of her age, she spoke tenderly. Your daddy again?

C’mon Gaston, it’s almost time to start class, said one of the boys.

I’m not going in, said Gaston.

You have to, the girl prodded. If you don’t show up, the teacher will tell your father, then he might hit you again.

I can’t. The other kids will make fun of me. They always do.

Those are just words Gaston. Now come on, you can’t stay here all day, you’ll freeze.

The bell signifying the start of class circled the building to reach their ears, and the boys ran off. Seeing that her encouragement wouldn’t prompt him to come in, the girl removed her coat and put it around Gaston.

I will bring you part of my lunch when it’s time. She turned only to find herself looking up at Mrs. Bavin.

Young lady what on earth is going on here? You and Gaston acting up? Huh? Are you back here a kissin’? You two get inside now. Now!

Gaston’s numb legs fought to stand him up when the teacher clenched his face hard with her long, bony fingers. Someone hit you. Was it your father?

His eyes looked down toward the frosty
