If a person wants to attend an Easter sunrise service, that person must get out of bed before sunrise. Which was the last thing Matt Hayden wanted to do. He’d spent the last three days hauling furniture, unpacking boxes and basically trying to make his new home livable for him, his mom and his brother.
Nonetheless, when his bedside alarm clock blared at the obscene hour of five o’clock, Matt pulled his six-foot frame out of bed and headed for the bathroom. As nature took its course, Matt took stock of the man he saw in the mirror. His once sun-streaked, long hair was gone, replaced by a short, side-parted business cut. Strange as that seemed, it was they eyes staring back at him that always caught him off guard. The haunted look said it all. Those green eyes hadn’t smiled for months.
As he headed back to his room to get dressed, his brother, Luke, called out from his bedroom on the other side of the single-story home. Boo!
