About this ebook

The novel is dedicated to people suffering from hemophilia. Šolim Ćidapop is an unknown, and as some have assessed, controversial thinker living in the country of Serbia. In a country that has been a "jumbo" on the path of the great powers of the world since time immemorial. He is a person with a burden that some call a "royal disease", but he is not unhappy because of it. The second is in question. It makes him think and this novel is in fact a story about his spiritual development in which he goes through various phases, all of which are related to political and historical circumstances. The result of his intellectual movement could be succinctly described as entering and exiting apparent truths. He finally concludes and reconciles himself to the realization that the ultimate truth about the meaning of life cannot be grasped and that this impossibility is the essence of human life. Because if there is a man who has managed to read the Mind of God, and there is certainly no such person, such a person would immediately lose the reason for his existence, because there would be no mysterious "further" and "more".
The first part of the novel describes Šolim's real life, namely, his childhood, successes and failures, accidents and happiness and happiness in accidents, education, family relations and other details from his existence. It describes circumstances that did not follow his wishes and plans, but were set according to some unfathomable laws of the universe and destiny.
In the second part, the protagonist enters the religious phase of his life, which has its sub-phases. They are all enigmatic in themselves, but each brings as a result some new insight into the understanding of both the Bible and human life. Chidapop does not hesitate to use his imagination to create the world as it should be. He finally sees the light that the ancient prophets wrote about. That light is the Logos of God. He never loses hope for tomorrow and remains faithful to the eternal Truth, not giving in to buying or selling.

Note: I write in the language of a small nation. It is the Serbian language. In order to reach the readers of the English-speaking area, I decided to write my autobiographical novel, which was previously published in Serbian, and now I am publishing it in English as well. Since my knowledge of English is at the A2 level, I apologize in advance for probably numerous grammatical, syntactic and linguistic errors. I hope you don't mind. I will be overjoyed if you understand at least half of the content.

    The dream of Sholim Cidapop

    Preface

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east they shall run for the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. At that time, beautiful girls and boys will be thirsty."

With these words of the prophet Amos, which I firmly hold to be appropriate, and the careful reader will be convinced of this in the future, I begin my autobiographical novel written in the third person singular. You will probably immediately ask yourself why not in the first person? My personal assessment ordered me to use this means to help myself in the most objective presentation of my life, and that is why I used this grammatical possibility to move away from myself, because from a distance you can better see the whole of anything you see, even looking at it. yourself. But, from time to time, I will violate this predetermined form, because I received such permission from the central character of the novel, that is, from myself. The main hero of my novel, although by no means do I think he was a hero or a great man, is my smallness and my family, but above all I am in it as a particle that carried all its features and characteristics. Emphasis will be placed on the analysis of the relationship between the individual individuals that made up that cell of the society from which I originated. This will be done by considering the most significant events in my life and the overall consequences that have occurred as a result of such outcomes. Research will be constantly under the scrutiny of the teachings I have gained through years of Bible study. Some political and social circumstances that were current during the life of the main character will also be considered. This novel does not have the primary goal of showing the readership the incredible experiences that the author went through during his life that no one else has experienced or could have experienced, or to depict places where few people were, or to show the great material achievements of one person, no, it is a novel about the mental movement of an individual through the spiritual world in search of the harmony of life and its meaning. It is literary structured in two parts. The first part is completely autobiographically founded and begins with verses from the Holy Scriptures, while the second part is a writer's fiction, but it also has a lot of real life content, ie a combination of real and unreal, and also ends with verses from the Bible.

    DESCRIPTION OF SHOLIM'S REAL LIFE

    Childhood

He prepared for a long time and for a long time he thought to himself that one day he would take a pen and embark on an adventure called the writer's journey. At first, he did not have a clear vision of what he would write about, but the inner force that encouraged him to do that job instructed him that something should be colored by thoughts about God. Although he had previously written a couple of works and a number of articles, he felt that he had not accomplished his task in this world, without which, as many believe, he could not even die, so he concluded that he should write a work that would primarily matter to him. to shed light on the meaning of everything that happened in his life, and also to help others in their search to understand themselves and other people. Therefore, it would be something autobiographical, but not simple, but seen through the spiritual longing for the final realization of the truth that is available to man. Describing his own family seemed to him the best start and therefore he began to write his novel in a simple way, I will to say without high philosophizing. And now let's get to the point.

I knew a poor family of four from Banat who had a sick son and who throughout his life became ill because of poverty and his son's hereditary disease, as he himself went from doctor to doctor and from hospital to hospital. It was a royal disease. That family was formed during Titoism. The father of the family, an extremely hard-working worker, winner of the recognition for labor productivity, selflessly tried to contribute to society and his family. He went in and out of the Communist Party twice, because a woman from Podrinje often complained about his membership in the organization. He would laugh sweetly when the little boy to whom he gave the membership card to play with said, looking at the communist logo on the booklet, a sickle and a hammer and then to the shop. I personally heard the testimony of his colleague who said that the man worked as a black man in the company.

He came from a family of seven, which had four sons and one sister. At that time, unlike today's situation where the birth rate in Serbia is so low that the very survival of the nation was called into question, Serbian women gave birth to ten or more children each, so that families functioned as small cooperatives. Each child had their own tasks and responsibilities, and the older children supported the younger children with their work. In this regard, Sholim's father fell into the role of foster brother. By all accounts, it seems that his mother decided such a fate for the sake of the welfare of the other children, which was not to his liking. And she achieved this in the following way: while he was in the army, they suggested that he activate and stay working in the army, but he refused after receiving a letter from his mother calling him to come home with the words son, there is bread here for you too.

The catch was that the other children were less able and hardworking than him, and the daughter who got married chose a man who was said to be of gypsy origin, and that people, as is generally known, are not peculiar to work in agriculture, they are more inclined to trade. So, she needed a worker and Sholim's father very quickly understood the situation in which he found himself. Namely, she forced him to work both their family land and his son-in-law's land, which was very difficult for him, and he was angry with his mother, holding that she was the main cause of his unwanted position. Such excessive work caused him accelerated biological wear and tear. Sholim recalled that the skin of his neck and face was so worn that it resembled the skin of an aged turtle even though he was in his younger and middle years of life. The last exploitation to which he voluntarily submitted was on the plot of his daughter and son-in-law, but it did not last long, because the unfortunate and poor man died. In connection with this, the reader should read the verse from the Gospel according to Matthew 10:36. Sholim's cousin, a little girl who was a few years old at the time, once, while Sholim's dad was working on his son-in-law's plot digging the foundation for the future house, commented: grandpa works, and dad sleeps. We were all amazed at his intelligence a small child. Wow, her brain was going three hundred an hour. Regarding this family, it could be said that it was of the matriarchal type, since the mother asked about everything, while the father of the family did not interfere in making any decisions, but left everything to his wife. The family was in constant conflict situations, especially when the brothers got married and the sister got married. The father of our main character was particularly affected by the circumstance when his mother gave birth to his youngest brother because he was already big at the time, and he hated him very much when the latter later begged him for a larger sum of money for a loan, which he returned only after inflation devalued it amount. Quarrels were frequent so that our hero's mother often went to the garden to cry, and thought is to write to her husband and return to her parents. The reason for these quarrels was apparently the dissatisfaction of one of the brothers, the father of our main character, due to the fact that he, as the eldest brother, was put in the service of the landowner by his mother, which is why he hated the landlords from his youth, because they treated him harshly and inhumanely, exploiting him to the maximum. She even let him work as a piggery. He often argued with his mother and cursed her, but not only because of that. Namely, our character's grandmother and his father's mother had certain relatives in the United States in Detroit, who sent packages. Those packages mostly ended up with their sister, because it seems that grandma loved her the most out of all her children. The lute of our character's father was so great that on one occasion he opened a package with goods that arrived and scattered it on the street. With this, he turned all his mother's love towards his other brothers and sisters, so that all this resulted in him and his wife receiving the smallest part of their property as an inheritance, only one chain of land which he renounced due to revolt and another reason.

His wife, otherwise a housewife, was also extremely hardworking and honest. She knew how to work on someone else's field from 6 to 6 in order to contribute to the family budget. In all of this, she managed to do all the housework and take care of her sick son, who often stayed in hospitals. She knew how to cover forty kilometers by bicycle when visiting her child.

And so on one occasion when she went to visit her son who was in the hospital, riding a bicycle from Itebej to Zrenjanin, she heard a child's cry, she stopped to look at what it was about and then she saw a male baby left in a ditch by the road.

And while she was thinking about what to do with the baby, the car stopped behind her, when it was the doctor from the children's clinic where her son was lying. He went to work. And when he recognized her, he addressed her by name, asking what is Milka. She replied, Here I found the baby. Then the doctor took the baby and put her in the car to take her to the hospital, saying that he would When she arrived at the hospital with her bicycle, the doctor began to persuade her to wrap the found baby, saying see how beautiful the baby is. which she refused saying she had her son. This event is interesting from another angle. Namely, it could be said that God saved that human being by using the trouble or illness of our hero, because if he had not been in the hospital on that occasion, one human life would probably have been extinguished.

She, the mother of our main character, sacrificed herself many times for her son and took actions that took him off the line between being and non-being in this world. On several occasions while he was a baby she gave her blood for him. And those transfusions extended his life. To go back in time and tell this about the life of their son who was the second child after their daughter was born. When he was born, which was on April 25, 1959, at 10 am on Lazarus' Saturday according to the Orthodox calendar, the gypsies sang to him under the window: Oh, Lazarus, good day. That night that followed exhausted after giving birth, she fell asleep without noticing that her little son somehow found himself under her body. When she woke up, she wondered where is my son, when was he under her. Frightened, she thought to herself that he had suffocated, but thank God he breathed a sigh of relief and she was relieved. She noticed later that her little son had a scar on his left thigh. The part of the skin in the shape of a shield was more heavily pigmented and freckled, but it was not hairy and therefore not ugly to look at. She cited a sensation that happened to her during pregnancy as the cause of that mark. Namely, there was a family living in the neighborhood whose host was engaged in hunting moles or some similar animals for fur. On one occasion, when she entered their yard, she saw the skins of those animals hanging on a string and, frightened by that sight, she pounded her fist on her left thigh. At first glance, this could be interpreted as a superstitious explanation, but it may not be. Science is increasingly proving the influence of the mother's mental state on the fetus.

The state in which Malisa was born was called FNRY and was in very difficult circumstances in those years due to the embargo from the east by the Soviets. The father of the family, a tractor driver by profession, worked day and night (at night under the headlights) in order to survive in such troubles. When Bata, as they called him from miles away, was born, and that happened in their house, the mother was alone, she sent the older sister to her grandmother, and the father was receiving treatment in Vrnjačka Banja.

The boy was very big when he was born, weighing about five kilograms. The midwife commented that it would be a hero judging obviously by the appearance of the child himself. The mother sent a letter to her husband, who, as I said, was in treatment, in which she informed him that his son had been born, and in that letter she also stated her grandmother's compliment.

However, when he returned home from the spa, he saw his son the hero with hematomas (bruises) on his body, which was very disappointing for him. After the birth he had his first accident due to his illness. Namely, he bled from the umbilical cord during the night, but his mother urgently called the midwife and she came and tightened the bandage, so the bleeding stopped. It was the first bleeding he had experienced in his life. The second bleeding in a row was also from the umbilical cord, and it happened in the Orthodox church in Itebej during the baptism. The umbilical cord had not yet healed properly and it was probably due to the priest's watering and overturning of the newborn that the wound was injured. He did not know about this event until he grew up and until his aunt, that is, his mother's sister who was present there, told him what had happened. The mother did not want him to find out about it, and she expressed her displeasure with the facial expressions intended for her sister. She did not want her son to be burdened by thinking about that event, or to not blame her for that unpleasant episode. But it all ended properly because the bleeding stopped spontaneously. This event later prompted Scholim to reconsider the justification of Orthodox theology regarding the baptism of small children. According to that theology, a child should be baptized as soon as possible, and if he is born weak or ill, he is baptized immediately after birth so that he does not die unbaptized.

In Orthodoxy, the baptism of a child must not be postponed, and especially not take the position that a child should decide on his own when he grows up. They say: baptism is a condition of man's spiritual survival and development.

In the early Church, parents who, because of their careless and irresponsible attitude towards the baptism of a child, allowed it to die unbaptized, were considered murderers of their own children. That is why the baptism of children should be approached while they are still babies, without waiting for any material or living conditions to be acquired for that. The sooner a child is baptized, the sooner he will receive the power of a new life in Christ, the priests claim. The mother does not attend the act of baptism only if it is performed in the first 40 days of the child's birth, after which her presence is

mandatory, since she physically gave birth to him, so she should participate in his spiritual birth. Manojlo Grbić in 1. In the book Karlovac Bishopric on p. 292, among the provisions of the Savior's Church Council in Belgrade, 1730, he states this information: Children should not be baptized in houses but in churches, and no child should be left unbaptized. more than eight days. "From all this, Jidapop concluded that his mother most likely did not attend the baptism, because the wound would have to heal in 40 days, since Orthodox regulations did not allow the mother's presence before that period expired.

In the first years of his life, several indicative events are intended, which are briefly described. Due to the nature of his illness, the toddler often stayed in hospitals, so what one physical physiotherapist with orthopedics in Baćica commented on was poor in the hospital. Hospital in Zrenjanin. Namely, one of the patients, who was about 15 years old, of Hungarian nationality, threatened, jokingly, that the little girl was to be scolded, and at the same time he took out a razor (wipe) and approached the bed where the boys were. And then he plunged a knife into the child's right lower leg. How the drugs managed to stop the bleeding remains a mystery, because at that time medicine did not have my means to treat severe forms of coagulopathy, but the judges, after a later look at the wound when it healed, seem to learn it. The hospital management ordered the nurses to tie the hats down on the legs of the letters so that the children's parents would not be cosmetic, and that it would all go so awkwardly, that they would not sue the hospital, but one of them would say he would say what was needed. . In the meantime, it all ended there. The director released the juvenile delinquent from the hospital, and the parents of the children were employed to file a lawsuit against the juvenile perpetrator of the crime, which they did not do. Another incident also happened at the hospital, but this time it was about the Father coming to visit his son on the way to the hospital he stopped by a kiosk (MP) where he bought gingerbread. Not to prolong the story, it was exported that there was broken glass in the medicine room and the little one was the only one who visited the language. The bleeding was saved by God sponsored and death was avoided. And the third event was arranged at the hospital. He was both sad and a bit as he says of a romantic nature. Name, one older girl, also a disease patient, took a boy who was otherwise very affectionate, for a walk in the hospital park. And it happened that she forgot about him at one club. The baby spent the whole night on the ground by a fountain. Some of the illnesses who heard the child's cry reported to the nurses and they went out and found him cold on the cold concrete, with a hospital dog next to him. The consequences of this accident will be felt throughout the child's life, because his kidneys were very cold. This provoked bleeding from the kidneys and the doctors, claiming that there was nothing they could do, dismissed him at home, putting his discharge in nep pićani. The doctor told his mother, Take him home, there's nothing wrong with him. And also the job is a little not to steam with hot water, because it will be even worse. " Among them, she

disobeyed them. She decided to take a risk, so how will it be, either or. The man was against her doing it, he waited for her to get dressed from home and then she carried out her treatment. Miraculously, when the boy contracted to pee after mating, the urine was clear.

She was thrilled, and so was her husband when he returned home after telling him everything.

After that, she informed the village doctor named Milovan Musurinski, who was also surprised, so he decided to help with injections and vitamins in granules.

And when all that was over and the boy was completely healed, on one occasion a boy was playing in the street, and this doctor was passing by on a bicycle going on a home visit to someone, the little boy said to him, Uncle doctor, you cured me. he replied honestly, I did not heal you, my dear, but your mother.

Until he left for the kindergarten, the father took the children with him to work, because they had no one to leave him with, since both parents were forced to work in order for the family to survive. Many years later, when he inherited his pension after his father's death due to illness, the child felt that he also deserved it according to some higher, heavenly justice, due to the circumstances that will be described.

There were a couple of dangerous situations for the boy's life at that workplace, but Heaven passed him by at that hour and that is why he continued to live. So here I am to describe them briefly. His father's job was on a large pig farm outside the village near the Begej River. There, a little boy of a few years old enjoyed nature. He woke up very early every day with his father, and sometimes before him, and he would often say to his father early in the morning, Let's go to work, which his dad liked to hear. The boy later often remembered the smile he saw on his father's face. By bicycle on the way to the workplace, they would pass through the center of the village where there was a candy kiosk called Baba Dajka. They had to stop there and buy some candy, ice cream or a lollipop, otherwise the kid would sulk all day. One day, the little boy went from the place where his father did work to his mother who worked in a field near that farm. He was a favorite among tractor drivers who worked in those fields together with wage earners, so they drove him in their tractors and caterpillars, these were in fact converted tanks to be used for agricultural purposes, because Yugoslavia at that time did not have a developed industry, so the state knew how to do it. The kid said to his mom, I'm going back to Dad's, and on the way back he tried to block the road so he wouldn't go around.

The place that seemed suitable for him to cross was a ditch filled with pig feces, but since the sun was very strong that day, the bark caught on the surface of that feces, which seemed very hard and therefore convenient to cross over without any problems. the reader does not think something wrong

about the boy, it is about a child who was not more than four years old.

And when the little one moved over that mass, he did not immediately start sinking, but when he moved a little away from the shore of the ditch, then the trouble and the fight to get out of those shit began. He quickly turned back, but he was already starting to sink
