The Woke Iliad

America of the near future remains the world's main superpower, but it has become completely woke. Meanwhile, Moldova, a former state within the Soviet Union and then a little-known country in Eastern Europe, stumbles upon a nuclear missile arsenal that makes it an unassailable military superpower. The country's president's style of governing is political incorrectness taken to the extreme. This bothers Americans, who see it as undermining their new world order. They send Helen, an American woke celebrity and the country's official Ambassador of Woke, to talk some sense into the Moldovans. The initiative is a complete failure – spies are involved, entrepreneurs are poisoned, and Helen is imprisoned. In response, the Americans create a nationless coalition that invades Moldova with a thousand submarines. To avoid escalation that may lead to a nuclear apocalypse, the invading army and the Moldovans battle it out in a peculiar low-intensity warfare. Twists and turns of fortune on both sides ultimately lead to a stalemate. The coalition then comes up with one last ace up their sleeve: a biomedical weapon that will transform the very bodies of the enemy and turn them into allies.
