They say all is fair in war and love. I get it; all the irrational decisions we make to save ourselves when we’re under their spell, but I wish it wasn’t so. Nothing could be more unfair in life than unrequited attachment, miscommunication or none at all...or being played by someone who pursued you first.

One-sidedness has no place in relationships.

I was inspired to write Seduce Me to Use Me, a brief piece about the misunderstandings, selfishness, and uncertainties lived in some of my past relationships, as a way of looking back at my emotional growth. And then I thought it’d be fun to share it!

It is not a story of fact-findings, not necessarily. I can’t say what makes some people want to act in a selfish way and take advantage of the tenderness in your soul. I wish I knew so I could pass it along and avoid those characters myself before they make themselves comfortable in my heart.

And it is definitely not a tale of how to find happiness. I’m still
