Lost in the Woods
Written by: Adithri Sharma Illustrated by: Agrima Sharma
I dedicate this book to my elementary and middle school English teachers. They planted the seed that created this flower, and for that, I
am grateful.
I would also like to dedicate this book to my parents. Thank you, Mom and Dad for supporting me every step of the way and always encouraging me by reminding me that no dream is unachievable.
I would like to thank my sister, Agrima Sharma, for her continued support and encouragement and my grandparents and extended family for their blessings.
Lastly, this book is for every other person like me out there. If I can write a book, you can do anything. Pursue your dreams without thinking about age or things you cannot control, because you can ALWAYS do it!
Chapter 1. Preparing for an Adventure
Once upon a time there were two sisters named Jasmine and Alison. They were playing in the woods behind their house when suddenly they saw a strange girl standing alone.
Let’s ask if she’s okay,
said Jasmine. But I’m scared!

Alright, I’ll go with you. Let’s go.
The two girls walked over to the strange girl. Um…hi. My name is Jasmine and this is my sister, Alison. Why are you here in the woods?

Oh, that’s pretty cool,
Jasmine replied, But why are you here alone?
Um…
stuttered the girl, Well, the thing is, I don’t really have any friends.
Alison and Jasmine looked at each other and grinned.
Well, why don’t you be our friend?
they both exclaimed together. Stunned, the strange girl sputtered out, Well, that would be wonderful!
The two sisters smiled at each other. So, what’s your name, new friend?
asked Alison.
Strangely, the girl looked a little startled before rushing out, Names don’t matter—it’s friendship that does!
Umm... okayyyy then,
said Jasmine, looking at her sister raising her eyebrows in a confused expression.
Hey, as my new friends, do you guys want to come to my super- secret hideout?
asked the girl.
The two girls looked at each other and shrugged. Um…I guess so,
replied Jasmine.
The three girls continued on deeper into the woods.
Well here we are,
said the girl, pointing to a small
