Dedication
This book is dedicated to my parents, Jenkins and Etta Hoff, for instilling in me the skills of hard work, honesty, dedication and discernment. Your never-ending encouragement stays with me everywhere I go.
To my awesome husband, Oran, who loves me unconditionally and is there to support me every step of the way.
To my sister Victoria, my colleague and best friend, the most wonderful confidante I can ever hope to have.
I certainly would not have gotten as far as I did if it were not for my children, Camille, Taylor, and Mack, who were my soldiers during this process. Starting from the early days of when I would get home tired and tearful and they would ask, "Mommy, are you stwessed," they learned independence and strength. I pray for peace and bountiful blessings on your lives as you make your own way.

I graduated from college at the top of my class at the age eighteen. I went on to medical school and completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery. During my first year of
