Breaking Out of the Huddle - David Parker
Dedication
I would like to pause and take this time to dedicate this, my first book and writing, to an awesome man of God who so happens to be my father, the late Rev. Dr. H. David Parker. Growing up as his son, I would often see my father typing his weekly sermons. My father was also the editor of the church’s monthly newsletter, The Lighthouse. I was amazed at his library of books in his study
(office) at home as well as his ability to type well over 75 WPM. As a pre-teen growing up in Hempstead, New York, I would always liken my dad to Clark Kent, the infamous reporter at the Daily Planet on the famous hit television show Superman!
Fascinated with his typing ability and his experience in journalism while in the U.S. Air Force, I was inspired to take up typing in high school and subsequently became the publisher/editor of South Florida’s first tri-county Christian newspaper during the 90s called The Love Express. When I began writing this book over seven years ago and completing the manuscript phase of it in 2014, I always thought that my father would be here to physically read my first book once it came off the press. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
On January 2nd, 2015, my father transitioned home to be with the Lord. Even though he did have the opportunity to peruse the book’s website (www.breakingoutofthehuddle.info) with its chapter summaries, he did not get the chance to handle the finished product and receive an autographed copy of the first book his oldest son had published. So for this, I dedicate this book, Breaking Out of the Huddle, to my mentor, friend, and dad: Rev. Dr. H. David Parker. His example of being an ambassador for the Kingdom of God here on earth has inspired me over the decades to complete the call, assignment, and purpose that God has commissioned me to do here on earth. I say Thank You, Dad
for making this book possible through the life you have lived before me while you were here with us. I dedicate this book in your honor.
Foreword
Given the awesome privilege from my friend and fellow alumni Apostle David Parker of reading Breaking Out of the Huddle loosed some of my inhibitions as if wounds that needed open air to heal. What is epitomized in this book is having the right relationship with Christ, equipping ourselves with the Word of God, building our character with integrity to walk in our inheritance as children of the Most High God. Many church folk
that are perhaps busying themselves while falling behind the line of scrimmage will be edified from being huddle-minded
and encouraged to be kingdom-minded
to BREAK
and proceed to the line of scrimmage – which are our personal assignments, our reasonable service on earth!

Breaking Out of the Huddle – Wow! What a very good read. I like the concept of how church is portrayed like being in a huddle of a football team. Through God’s grace and mercy, we’re allowed to go forward on the playing field called life each and every day. The Pastor/Overseer aka the QB (Qualified Believer) gives us, the WR (Worship Regulars), the RB (Really Blessed) knowledge, understanding and direction from the One, who snapped the ball from Calvary,’ as the CENTER of all of our PLAYS (wisdom and instructions) on Any Given Sunday (popular football movie) and gives us instruction on how to be enabled, equipped, and empowered to get at least 10 (number of fullness) yards to a FIRST down. I pray these writings help others get excited about breaking away from the traditions of being on the SIDELINES of religion, and encourage others to come closer to the One who created the T FORMATION from Golgotha’s rugged END ZONE, as God gives us plays from above and His Son, Christ Jesus, sits at the Right Hand, calling each play, and diverts our enemy, keeping us from FUMBLING, and presenting us faultless with our TD
(Total Deliverance) before His Throne in Glory, with exceeding and great joy!
Great read Apostle Parker ~ God bless you, Sir

Acknowledgement
As the first of many writings, it is only fitting that I take this time and acknowledge those individuals who were instrumental in assisting me to get this project from an inspirational thought and message from God to you.
First I must thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for his redemptive work in my life. Without being a new creation in Christ, growing in the knowledge of Him and daily communion with the Father – this project would have never come to fruition. It is an honor to be chosen to write such a timely and relevant message that will bless the Body of Christ globally. The patience of the Holy Spirit toward me was evident from start to finish, and to God be given all the glory for His finishing work. I am eternally grateful!
Second – I must acknowledge the help God has divinely placed into my life to assist me to get this from revelation placed in my heart into a book format. Special thank you to my schoolmate, friend, and beloved sister in Christ - Jeanette (Burgess) Robinson from Hempstead High School, Hempstead, New York, who encouraged me, drove me, and offered such superb professional assistance and patience from day one. Any new or existing authors that need editing and formatting assistance, I highly recommend they contact Jeanette for all upcoming projects. You will not regret it! Thank you, Jeanette!
Special thank you to the book cover designer Melissa Cook from Daphne, Alabama – who took my book title and the message I shared with her on the phone one evening and created my first book cover. Again, Melissa is another person in the Body of Christ that I recommend for any and all your graphic design needs. With the help of technology – Melissa will make it happen for you as well. Thank you, Melissa!
Last but not least, thank you to my lovely wife, Lorraine, for coming into my life at a critical time and positioning yourself as a mid-wife to help bring forth this project to life that will be a blessing to thousands around the world. Your encouragement and assistance means a lot and your love is unfeigned. I also appreciate the support from my four children: Latoya, David Alexander, Stephanie, and Daniel Anthony, for believing in your dad and offering advice, suggestions, and encouragement in moving this book project forward. And my siblings: Wanda, Helen, Joyce, Daniel, and Dorothy. I love you dearly and may God bless you to fulfill your purpose and destiny in Him. I pray that you will receive all that God has promised and ordained for you is my sincere prayer for you.
A special thank you to Author/Minister Keith Burgess, Author/Apostle Jonas Clark, five-fold ministry gifts, family members and friends from all over the United States (New York, Chicago, and Florida specifically) and the Caribbean Islands who tracked the progression of this book project and provided powerful words of encouragement and faith from conception to now. My heart’s prayer is that the love you’ve shown me during this initial book project will be multiplied back to you one hundred fold!
There are others that have contributed help and assistance behind the scenes for this project that I may have accidentally omitted in this writing but will be mentioned on the book website at:

Thank You Everyone!!

Introduction
Several years ago after returning home from worship service one Sunday charged up from the powerful word preached that day, I relaxed and turned on the television and began to watch the Sunday afternoon football games. Being an ardent fan of football and still basking in the residue of revelation received from that Sunday morning worship service, I began to observe the football games with my spiritual eyes as well. Believers that have a lifestyle devoted to prayer and an intimate walk with God know that being sensitive to the voice of God and divine revelation comes as automatic as breathing.
As I continue to flip through the channels going back and forth from one game to the other, my concentration began to fasten on the players in the huddle or the huddle formation. At one point – the offensive team was penalized for remaining in that huddle formation too long and not moving out of that formation, proceeding to the line of scrimmage and executing their next play.
So – here comes the downloaded revelation from Heaven. If the Body of Christ could be likened to the offensive players on a football team in the huddle formation – then breaking out of the huddle formation is essential for there to being any advancement of the Kingdom of God on earth. The football huddle formation for the believer is when we gather together for worship services, conferences, revivals, crusades, prayer meetings, summits, convocations, fellowshipping and the like. However important these gatherings are to our growth and development in Christ, they could
