THE ROBINSONS

Holly and Ashleigh Robinson
When Antoni Robinson built his house in the 1970s for his wife, Susan Phillips, and their two daughters, Amanda and Claire, he was building more than a house – he was building a home. Somewhere to build memories.
Sadly, the marriage didn’t last, and somewhere around 1980 the couple separated, and following his divorce, Antoni’s Polish parents bought the bungalow from him and lived there for the next ten years.
Joanne Barr
Three or four years after his marriage ended, Antoni Robinson met Joanne Barr, and, when his mother died in 1992, Antoni bought the bungalow back, and once again it became home to his family – this time consisting of Joanne, and their two daughters, Holly and Ashleigh. But Antoni was a good father, and although Amanda and Claire had moved to the South of England, they had a close relationship and were in regular contact.[1]
The couple never married.
Antoni’s daughters from his first marriage had misgivings about Joanne Barr – she was, after all, only three years older than his own daughter, Amanda. But they loved their dad and wanted to see him happy, so they put their misgivings aside and supported their father in his new relationship.
Things were going well – that is until Joanne had her own children with Antoni.
At first, Joanne was lovely. But when she had her own kids, Ashleigh and Hollie, she changed towards us...she was jealous of Dad’s first family. She was a possessive control freak and wouldn’t let us near him...although I never liked her, she and Dad never knew that, I buried my feelings because Dad would have been devastated. Family was the most important thing to him.
Antoni revelled in his role as a father for the second time.
He was overjoyed when Ashleigh and Hollie were born. He would do anything for them – always cleaning their shoes and making their dinner. He loved looking after them...he was so proud of them, particularly Ashleigh. She was so clever, gaining nine A-grade GCSEs. She was the apple of Dad’s eye. If he was disappointed when she got pregnant at 18 instead of going to university, he never let on.

Unhappy Marriage
Although the couple stayed together for 25 years, the relationship wasn’t a happy one,
