About this ebook

Robert Pickton was a former pig farmer and serial killer convicted of the second-degree murders of six women. He was also charged in the deaths of an additional twenty women, many of them prostitutes and drug users. The pig farmer mainly preyed upon drug addicts and prostitutes, picking them up on the streets before driving them to his farm, where he had sex with them before torturing then murdering them.
He handcuffed and stabbed other victims, including one woman who managed to escape, naked and bleeding, in 1997 after stabbing Pickton with his own knife. That woman was considered unreliable by police, though, and Pickton was not prosecuted. His rampage would continue another five years before he was finally caught.

The Worst Serial Killer In History - Amy Delaney

    Robert William Pickton

Robert William Pickton was born in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, on October 24th, 1949 to Leonard and Louise Pickton. He was the middle child of three – his sister, Linda, was born a year earlier, and his brother, David, followed a year later, in 1950.

His father, Leonard, was born in England in 1896, but when he was three his family emigrated to Canada. Leonard was perceived as being lazy, and no one held out much hope of him making anything of his life until he astonished everybody by marrying Louise – a woman who was sixteen years younger than Leonard.

Louise was the antithesis of Leonard. Whereas he was lazy, she was a hard worker, and it was she who ran the family’s inherited farming business, and also the family.

But Louise was a strange woman. Her physical appearance alone was enough to make her stand out, for all the wrong reasons. While she certainly worked hard at the business, she neglected her appearance dreadfully – as the years progressed she lost most of her hair, and her teeth slowly rotted away. While her head hair became ever scarcer, her facial hair grew in abundance, until she had what could pass as a decent goatee beard on her chin.

Louise’s appearance both repulsed and fascinated the locals. She would screech at her children in a high pitched tone and was always seen wearing a housecoat over men’s jeans, which were invariably tucked inside men’s gumboots.

Leonard’s appearance was not dissimilar to his wife’s. His clothes were always dirty, and he wore old t-shirts over old jeans, sporting the same heavy gumboots as his wife. However, where Louise was short and fat, Leonard was tall and wiry.

Linda and David took after their mother in appearance, but Robert, or Willie as he was known, was tall and thin like his father, and often described as ‘rat-faced’ by the locals.
