Author Slave - Dr. Joyce Starr
1. Help, I Lost My Buy Buttons
Dear Author: Let's face it. Authors receive ridiculously low royalties and payments for all the hard work and time invested. Can you name another profession where the majority receive pennies on the dollar for their time, or where their investment
often ceases to produce financial benefits after only a year or two?
You slaved for months or perhaps years to bring your beloved book baby
to life. You invested incalculable time, energy and funds promoting your book through your website, blogging, social media posts and ads. You suffered sleepless nights over the book title, cover image and fonts.
You’ve anticipated nearly every challenge imaginable—except for the burning questions included in this book.
1. Who controls the buy buttons for your book?
2. Who controls your ISBN number if you want to republish or self-publish your work on other platforms?
3. What if your publisher of record stops distributing your work?
4. How do you compete with third party sellers of your hardback or paperback editions?
5. Should you purchase and resell your remaindered copies?
6. How can you ensure that future editions of your book inherit your customer reviews—especially those precious 5-star reviews?
7. What are your best income producing options for self-publishing your work?
