THANK YOU, MAX, FOR THAT MARVELOUS INTRODUCTION!
The idea for this book or guide stemmed from my travel series $100 Weekends, which appeared on YouTube and in my Facebook group – Hunnit Dolla’Ventures. I was on an extreme budget to get myself out of debt but didn’t want to sacrifice my choice for self-care, which was travel.
I gave myself $100 to use one weekend a month, and I planned the best trip I could. This budget was exclusively for transport and lodging. It was mainly nationwide excursions – no international locales – but it was necessary. As I was lucking up on extraordinary opportunities, I figured I should share what I could do on such a small budget.
I realized then that I was using budgeting to my advantage, and though not an expert, I felt I could help others see the world beyond their front stoop. Even before that moment, I’ve been helping friends, family, and others purchase discount flights and other accommodations for personal and family excursions.
Diversifying what constitutes a trip was of great concern with the budget mentioned above. I’ve taken Casino bus trips (Thank you, Ms. Dollee) – I don’t even gamble, but I have had some successes, explored my city and state differently, and even visited friends in nearby towns. All of these things count as budget-friendly trips.
Becoming a budget-friendly traveler takes experience and involves countless mistakes. It often encompasses getting lost, spending too much money, and suffering through lousy accommodations or poor customer service.
Thankfully, with this guide, you’ll be able to avoid the most common travel mistakes while learning how to become a budget-friendly traveler who knows how to:
