Prologue: the Worst Day
Lincaro, Cascoss, April 12th, 2006, 8:00 AM
Kevin Heartly woke from his slumber hoping that everything was going to be fine, but what he was currently unaware of was that somebody had put a disastrous plot in motion. One that would deeply effect him. Someone was going to make sure that this day was going to be soaked in tragedy.
Kevin swiftly prepared himself for work, and as soon as he was dressed he took off to work, he took the train as usual, but unfortunately something caused a glitch in the system and he ended up running late. When he arrived at work, soaked as he was hit by water from a broken pipe just outside the building, he spotted his boss waiting beside Eliane, the girl who greeted and assisted those who enter the building.
Kevin felt a cold sweat run down his nape, he was right to be scared, the boss explained that Kevin had missed a very important meeting which he was supposed to be a part of and because of that he had no choice but to fire him, as this was the third instance of this mistake this week.
Kevin went into his office, his letters already arrived and one of them was a reminder that he had to be at court at that time. Luckily he had too much to drink to take his car home and the bar he left it at was a stones throw away. He packed up his things as fast as a leopard dash and headed off to his car.
He shortly arrived at his vehicle and entered it. He drove it into Everleason which was basically a stones throw away as both Lincaro and Everleason shared a border.
Once he was in Everleason he headed straight for the Everleason courthouse. After about ten minutes he had arrived to find a spot had been reserved for him.
He parked in that spot and entered the courthouse as swiftly as possible. Surprisingly he had arrived only two minutes early. It was already 10:28 A.M.
The divorce proceeding between Kevin and his soon to be ex-wife Carol Heartly went by in a flash, before he knew it, it was all over and he had to hand over halve of most of what he owned to his wife, luckily he still got to keep his two story house.
You’re probably asking what could of lead to this, Carol works as a firefighter in Everleason, that fire station had two eligible bachelors. One was Robert Ritché, the brother of famed prosecutor Ben Ritché, and Alfred Nuance, of the wealthy Nuance family. She fell in love with the much younger Robert as Alfred was fast approaching 40.
Now that the ordeal of divorce was over, Kevin could finally head home. On his journey however, one more terrible thing happened. He crashed into another vehicle, his car got a lot of damage and had to be towed for repairs, whilst the car that he had just collided with, which was of a far less cheeper make and model as his, had survived with very minor damage, even though it should have been obliterated. The driver of that car was a Lintero from Earth, his ability probably had something to do with protection. But that was none of Kevin’s concern, he still wanted to get home.
He finally arrived back at his house at 1.00 P.M.
He started to tidy the house up, he knew Carol would have to return at some point, as some of her stuff was still in his house.
That was when he received a phone call from Robert, even though Robert was the one who cheated in Kevin’s wife, he still answered the call as Robert was Kevin’s good friend and he was only feeling a light despair. After all his now ex-wife has fallen in love with a man Kevin trusts will all his heart.
Hey buddy, I heard you have had a hard time today, Carol told me about your boss giving you ol’ kick out the door.
Yes! You know what else happened today? After the divorce proceedings ended, while I was driving home, I crashed into someone, I might have to get a new car.
Suddenly the opened, Kevin was surprised. It was Robert. He must have seen Kevin enter the house. Kevin realised he was probably doing some pouty behavior, such as kicking around a small stone around.
