About this ebook

"I enjoyed it very much…I don't read a lot of poetry these days but this one…I can see a lot of love went into this work…" Ian Irvine

Poetry should achieve some kind of purpose, take the reader into a particular place or places and show them something, ideally something important. This collection is a journey in four parts and, although it may appear flippant at times, there is a purpose to the journey, if one is willing to really look.

Just what is the purpose of that journey? Hopefully no two journeys will be the same for any two people.

Join us on a voyage of discovery through the strange worlds of the mind and obsevations on human ritual until we discover, together, what it is all about.

Author

Alan J. Fisher

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Alan has since lived in various parts of the world before settling in Spain with his family.  Influenced in early life by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and the traditions of High Fantasy, Alan has studied history and mythology from around the world and has always been interested in how the same stories have been told and re-told from one side of the globe to the other. He is alway deeply interested in languages and their influence on society.  Work on what would become the Empyraeum Cycle was begun when Alan was 13 years ago, the first draft being completed on an old mechanical typewriter and later re-written on a school computer

We all have a dark side and a light side; the trick is how to learn from the former, its experiences and disappointments, without letting it make any decisions.

Explore this chapbook and, perhaps, use my maps to guide your own journey and progress.

My three female muses; my lovely and supportive wife (or keyboard widow as she calls herself at times) and my two beautiful little daughters, Ambar & Anaïa, it’s too soon for you to know you’re the light of Daddy’s eyes but you’ll learn! Also my sons, all four of them, Harry, you inspired some of these, I think you’ll appreciate them and they’ll make a lot of sense to you!

    Introduction

I feel that this volume needs an introduction as it is quite different to those which preceded it, being a work of complete poetry. No more are there poems spread between short stories, adding thematic flavor. Not this time, this time it is all poetry, some you may already know and love and others which are new to even me. It is time to show my legions of fans that I am a poet and love poetry, deep down, the best of all!

Many have asked me why have I decided to release my collection of poetry for Christmas and why have I gone for both so – ahem – controversial a title and so dark a cover. Well I
