While some parts of this story work well some of it just didn't work for me. Gabriel the Duke of Winterbourne's marriage is in trouble. He left her when she was giving birth to their first and only son, she found out that he went to a brothel. Now they share the same house but don't talk, what she doesn't understand, because he won't tell her, is that he is part of a group who investigate and protect the prince regent from plots, and there's an assassination plot happening, so while she wants his attention he's trying to keep the prince alive and it's an unholy mess.Turns out she's close to some of the plotters too.Not bad but could be better.
