I started writing books when I was 10 years old and fell in love with entertaining readers. I don't believe in fluff! I want each reader to escape into a spy thrilling world when they read my books. I finished doing book signings in Los Angeles and TV interviews with the Hampton Roads Show.  I am just getting started! I hope you enjoy each page!

#iRememberIII Drowning Memories - Ashlie Gibbs

    #IRemember III

Val! Val! Casper ripped the ear piece out of her left ear and rushed out of the room. Her companion Arthur rushes behind her as they sprint out a warehouse building around the corner through traffic. Cars sounded the horns as the two cut across the street towards another building.

Still no sound? Arthur yelled while running behind her.

NO!! Casper stopped at the door looking at the top of the building. Shit…shit shit!!! She took off running and climbed the stairs stopping on the third floor. Val!!

Val!! Arthur stopped to see what Casper found after catching up to her.

Casper rush over to a container full of water where Val’s lifeless body floated inside. Her eyes were shut as she lost consciousness. Oh my god! Casper said while looking at her friend and placing her hand on the glass.

    REWIND BACK…

The flight attendant chimed over the intercom as Valerie looked out of the air plane window staring down at downtown Los Angeles. Ladies and Gentleman please fasten your seat belts as we make our final descent into Los Angeles, California.

I thought the point was to stay away from the states? Considering we are wanted felons… Casper whispered while eating some peanuts.

Valerie chuckled at her friend and shook her head, Sherri called me threatening my family. She wants me out of hiding, so she gets her wish. Access granted.

That family means that much to you huh?

Valerie adjusted her body in her seat while recalling the memory of when she met Liam, and her adopted parents.

Does she talk? Liam asked while staring at her. Valerie stood in the middle of the room silent and uncomfortable. She looked back and forth between her newly adopted parents and Liam while clasping her hands together to stay calm.

Oh honey, she is a new addition to our family. She is your sister and you will treat her as such. His mom retorted.

Yea son, make Valerie feel welcomed. The dad chimed in.

Liam walked over to Valerie who looked into his eyes. He touched her shoulder and Valerie flinched, I won’t hurt you. I promise. You’re my sister now.

Yea, they are my family. The family that loved me and cared for me. Not torture and brutally trained me to be a killer. Valerie explained.

Casper looked around, Yea, say that louder so we can scare a few more people on the plane.

    Right, of course.

So why does your estranged crazy sister want the black box? Casper asked while chewing on some ice.

I’m assuming to use it to harm the people.

We can’t give it to her Valerie. The contents of the black box can kill….

…I am well aware of what I can’t do and what the black box can do, Valerie said while looking at her friend. But please say it louder so you can scare the people at the back of the plane. Casper looked around hoping no one was listening in.

Look, I understand she is your sister. But, if she is willing to threaten your family, kill you, and tons of people. She isn’t the Sherri you remember.

Valerie took a deep breath and nodded, I know Casper.

The plane landed and the ladies walked off the plane carrying their overnight style duffle bags. They carried little luggage to minimize attention. They went to the parking garage and Valerie stopped to scan the cars.

I could just order a car service on the app. Casper said as Valerie walked over to black car and picked the car lock.

No need, Valerie said while opening the driver door and tossing her duffle bag in the backseat.

Casper jumped in and buckled her seatbelt as Valerie hot wired the car. They drove off down the street and Casper pulled out her flip phone. She connected it to her computer. Now, if she calls you, we can get a track on her location.

    Good.

So where did you hide the black box?

Valerie glanced at her, You know I can’t tell you that.

Right… in a mocking voice, "trust no one…blah blah blah."

You are my only friend. I just don’t want you to become a solid target for them.

Too late for that… Casper said while typing on her lap top. She disconnect the phone and closed the computer, Done.

Immediately the phone started ringing showing unknown on the display screen. Valerie grabbed the phone and flipped it open, Hello…

Welcome back sis. How was your flight? Sherri asked.

Enough small talk Sherrie. How about you tell me where to meet you to give you the black box.

Damn, I was attempting to be polite but lets get to it. Meet me at the following address that will be text to you shortly.

    Sherri… Valerie said while driving.

Val… Sherri answered, Make sure you have what I asked for.

Do you honestly think I would keep the black box here in LA, where all the shit happened to me? Valerie laughed. It will take more than a few hours to get the box.

Don’t bull shit me Val! I mean it! Have the black box or else! Sherri yelled.

Or else what Sherri!? This isn’t you! Let you and I meet, no bombs or threats. Valerie pleaded. It was out of her character to make deals with anyone but she held a soft spot in her heart for her older sister.

Located near the beach Sherri stood in a house that held a view of the ocean. She hung up on her and squeezed the phone. What do you want us to do boss? One of the men asked her.

Switch to plan B. I need to get my sister’s attention.

Yes ma’am The man started typing on the computer.

Sherri walked over to two other females who served as hired mercenaries in her group. Pack up everything, we leave within the next hour.

As Valerie drove the phone vibrated with an address and Casper read it off. Where is this place? Casper said while looking at the location.

Valerie paused and then asked, Are you certain it says 211 Grove Court?

    Yea why?

Valerie hit a u-turn at the light and picked up speed, That is my parent’s house.

    Oh…. Casper said.

Within minutes Valerie pulled up to her parents house prepared to jump out and run towards the door but Casper stopped her and held her back. Valerie! You can’t! They think you’re dead remember!?

Valerie paused and closed the car door back, Damn it…why did you bring me here Sherri?

They sat in the car and watched as her mother and father pulled into the driveway and got out of the car carrying bags. Valerie’s immediate feelings of grief evolved into regret
