About this ebook
GALACTIC FEDERATION SERIES : RETRIEVERS
They are Retrievers. If something is stolen, they are hired to get it back.
They go in unseen and unnoticed, however getting out without being shot at, is another story. They are one of the best teams in the Federation and are paid handsomely for their services.
They are family.
Awoken by her ship being fired upon, Commander Mella Seiren's distaste upon seeing one of her father's Battle Cruisers, is justified. She's in no mood for Mydian politics and threatens to shoot her way free, until she's informed her brother's been kidnapped, and comes face-to-face with the one male who has never left her thoughts.
Admiral Rymus Toa is on his last days of an emissary mission between allies and is sent to bring home a banned Princess. The mission no one wanted turns out to be the best one he could have been sent on when he discovers Mella, is the banned High Princess of Myd. He hasn't seen Mella in a few years, never knew anything beyond her first name, and has yearned for her ever since.
As Mella and Rymus are thrust into working together to find her brother, they also find themselves as mates. With an enemy so close, Mella's heart is betrayed to the fullest when she finds out, her father is in on the kidnapping and a dark truth emerges.

Chapter 1
Mella smiled as she strolled down the walkway away from the market. Things had changed so fast for her and her team. First Janeska had taken a mate and now Soma. They were so happy with their mates. Janeska had birthed a healthy male heir to the Dragon Kingdom, and Soma was happy getting to play with her new mate. Glancing over, her eyes widened as she whipped the hood over her face. Shit, what was he doing here? Picking up her pace, she wasn’t fast enough when she heard the yelling. Damn it, she didn’t need this. They must have spotted her in the market place. Where in the hell was her head? Lifting her cloak, she started running down the sidewalk and turned her head to see Quan’s men in pursuit.
Taking off down the pier, she turned when one grabbed her and Mella came up swinging. Dodging his fist, she came up with a right hook, hitting directly under the chin and turned, her leg coming up with a kick to his mid-section. Her lips parted on a gasp when someone hit her head from behind and arms wrapped around her. Lifting her elbow, she jabbed into their ribs, a grunt escaped as he gripped her hair and hit him again. Teetering to the side, they went over into the water of the lake, she turned as he tried to hold her head under. Opening her eyes, she shifted to a Vesi. Gills appeared on her neck. She didn’t have all their abilities and wouldn’t be able to hold the form long, but it would be long enough to get away from him. Stopping her splashing, she sank to the bottom, as if he had drowned her. She walked the bottom of the lake until she was on the other side and closer to her cruiser.
Mella sighed, letting bubbles out, and watched as they headed to the surface. She had not always been a Retriever. No, she had been on the wrong side of the law for a while, before learning what she was good at. Finding things. The good thing for her was she had never been caught or associated with any of the criminal element she had hung with during those dark years of her life. The dark years, yeah, that is sure as hell what they were. Young, stupid, spoiled little princess with no clue as to what real life was outside her castle until she had been forced outside to survive or die.
Slowing down when her head broke water, she looked around. The night had come, and the darkened sky beckoned. Slipping silently out of the water, Mella shifted back to breath the air. Flinging her cloak aside, she headed toward her cruiser. Well. She would not be vacationing here any time too soon.
Sighing when she entered her cruiser, she tossed her cloak to the copilot chair and took the Captains chair. It wasn’t like Soma was here to yell at her for being a slob. Smiling, she started the cruiser and lifted off, heading back to her ship Lute, which was sitting right outside the planet in orbit at a space station being loaded with food and water and a few other supplies.
After docking and paying the fees, she glanced at the star system and set the ship to autopilot. Damn, it was quiet around here. She was alone most of the time now, not that she wasn’t happy. She was just tired of being alone. Those two had definitely spoiled her and had come to be such
