For my Sophia, my Dark Night Sky, my Muse, my Song. It’s been a long hard journey, and the time during which I wrote these poems was dark, not in the way of the Night, but of mists of uncertainty. The chasm that separated us, it was harder than anything I have ever had to endure, and our reunion when at last I was in your arms again, it made all the mist worthwhile. This book, these poems, they are our separation and our return, both through the ages and during that hard season. My muse, my Sophia, thank you for waiting, for always coming back.
