INTRODUCTION

The poems in this book have been waiting for a while to be published as the author was mainly occupied with writing Russian poetry and releasing it in electronic and paper forms. Now, in addition to two big books, Обратный отсчёт (The Countdown) and После перерыва (After the Break), the ten-books Projections cycle has been finished and published under the author's own label Arcus NY. Finally, eight selected poems in Russian, visually enhanced by PowerPoint, have been released in the book named Стихографы (Poemgraphs). Most of these releases were made in 2015-16.

The poems presented to the reader are mostly original poems in English on the American material. At the end I added several translations from Russian, also related to the US. This explains the title of this book. It is interesting to note that the first poems here date back to the fall of 2012, when I resumed writing poetry after a 23-years break, this time both in Russian and English. It was more-than-average turbulent time of the financial crisis and the Occupy movement. This and my bewildering by the political correctness are reflected in many
