About this ebook

The deadliest virus in human history is passed down from parent to child and has a 100% mortality rate. It has no cure. What is this virus? Sin. The sin of mankind against their God who made them, from the Garden of Eden echoing through history. Mankind, because of their sinful nature, are doomed to die. God said the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and his words have been true for all mortal men.

The purpose of this book is to educate both those who call themselves Christians, born-again Christians and non-Christians on what it means to be saved and put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone. I seek to provide biblical truths so that all who read this can fulfill what Peter writes in 2 Peter 3:17-18 which states, "You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen."

    Chapter 1: The Deadliest Virus

The deadliest virus in human history is passed down from parent to child and has a 100% mortality rate. It has no cure. What is this virus? Sin. The sin of mankind against their God who made them, from the Garden of Eden echoing through history. Mankind, because of their sinful nature, are doomed to die. God said the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and his words have been true for all mortal men.

But you might say, what about Jesus? Jesus Christ was not a mere mortal - he was the son of God. He is the only being to walk the Earth without sin. It was his sinless nature that allowed him to sacrifice himself to pay the price for our sin with his blood. It is because of Jesus Christ dying on the cross, being buried and rising from the grave that we can be granted salvation by the grace of God.

The purpose of this book is to educate both those who call themselves Christians, born-again Christians, and non-Christians on what it means to be saved and put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone. Amen."

Chapter 2: Are You a Good Person?

Acouple years ago I volunteered at a booth our church had set up at a local festival in our town for outreach. We were handing out waters on what was expected to be a hot summer day in Michigan and asking people if they wanted to take the Good Person Test as they passed by.

What is the Good Person Test, you may ask? It starts by asking if the person thinks they are a good person. The question is something of a trick, because as you go through the list of questions every participant realizes that there is no way to pass the test. The Bible teaches us that no man is righteous (good) and has no righteousness to offer for his sins. Romans 3:10-12 states As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.’ Isaiah 64:6 supports this by saying "But we are like an unclean thing, And all our righteousness are like filthy rags... and Romans 3:23 seals the deal with For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

The very first question concerning a commandment trips a lot of people up. It asks, Have you ever told a lie? Now, a lie includes white lies, lies of omission or anything else where a person hasn’t told the truth, regardless of the reason. If a participant is being honest with themselves, they know they’ve lied at least once in their life - as a child or adult. If they say no, then they’re probably lying to both themselves and the test administrator.

They’re then asked, What do we call someone who lies? Now, the expected, obvious answer is liar, but I heard various answers. One woman said something along the lines of We accept them for who they are and don’t judge before walking away. This is ironic, because judging is exactly what our heavenly Father is going to do with all of us - he is going to judge us based on the sins we have committed, of which lying is one. Saying Society just accepted me for who I was, a liar, and didn’t judge me, to God isn’t likely to fly. People who say things like that want to see the world as they want it to be, not as it really is. Imagine if
