Norman Christie

Norman Christie's parents were renowned in Northern Ireland for their chain of paint and decorating shops; having outlets across the province. His father, a pastor and business owner, laid a spiritual understanding in him from a young age. Leaving school, Norman became a successful industrial chemist with BP Oil. Then God called him into full-time ministry with the Elim Pentecostal Church in Ireland in 1982. With his wife Doreen and four children, they set off on a ministry path to help people, Christian and non-Christian, through life.

    Introduction

Since this is my first book, it is only fitting that I should introduce myself. Even those of you that know me personally, may not know my background story...

My father was called Richard Christie, a painting contractor, being part of the Christies’ Wallpaper and Paints dynasty; well-known throughout Ulster. My three brothers entered the family painting business. However, I had no desire to follow their example, and in my teens, I decided to pursue a career in industrial chemistry.

Being conscious of God’s call on my life to preach the gospel, I preached my first sermon at age 17 in Bethesda Elim, in Belfast. I became heavily involved in
