INTRODUCTION
As I share with you my prayer experiences where God answered yes
to the requests, there’s the belief that you’ll be more hopeful. There’s a section at the end of the book for you to write whatever you want to. You may list past requests that were answered yes,
thus affirming the power of prayer. You could list future requests, or simply whatever you feel like writing. Some of you may even write your observations about life.
One of the purposes of this book is to inspire you to remember the various times that your own prayer requests were answered with the answer yes.
It’s not easy to cite how often it has happened if we are in a down mood or down on our luck for a period of time. I hope this causes you to remember to write down your past granted prayer requests. It can lift your mood so you can move ahead and not stay stuck where you are.
Some people write down their requests on a regular basis and then put the date of the final response given by God. Keeping a record of requests and recording the final results can be an affirming experience at times.
Some of your requests may require that you personally take action on them to make them happen. In my own life, there were times when prayer and faith alone were enough to make it happen. I hope you have a fulfilling experience.
CHAPTER 1
Many of us keep our prayer life with God very private, and I’ve been no exception. Years ago, when I was going through a period of unemployment and financial difficulty, I was upset with God for not bringing in enough money for me to pay my bills on time. At times, I wondered if God was even hearing my prayers. Did He have too much wax in His ears of something? I was trying to be patient for financial relief, but there still wasn’t enough coming in. I was getting more upset every day. I wondered if God even cared about me. Did he want me to experience hell on earth or something? I then decided to make a challenge for God. I said, "if you can remind me of many of my significant prayer requests that you answered with ‘yes,’ I’d write a book about it years later and share the requests with others.
Over the years, I’d write down on scraps of paper anything that I could remember that was answered with yes.
The more I started to remember these and other prayer requests, I simply had to conclude that anything is possible with God. Letting go and letting God is important. Have just enough faith that He’ll do it if it’s a good idea. What he does with your request may boggle your mind. As I remembered my requests answered with yes,
I started to feel like these truths were stranger than fiction.
One person can make a world of difference. With God, we are all equal in His eyes. He’ll do amazing things for anybody. Our prayers are a piece to the puzzle of what makes things happen. Think of it as a tapestry where crude threads show on the back of the quilt. From the front of the tapestry, a beautiful design has taken place that is complete.
God answers our prayer requests with either yes
or no
or wait.
Think back upon your prayer requests that were answered with a yes.
Then realize that your desires mattered to God and you are important in His eyes. Just keep those requests coming. He always listens and cares. Some requests may be delayed, but answered with a yes
nonetheless. Any requests answered with a no
are simply not
