CHAPTER ONE
G et the freak hurry boys, kill him Cuz he sure as hell doesn’t belong here with us, he’s a disabled, good for nothin monster!
A brown haired, muscular young boy named Bryan shouted to his gang of fifteen year old friends as the four boys ran around the large sandy school yard trying to grab hold of a boy who was much thinner and smaller then all of them. Being a year younger, thinner and deph Jared knew he wouldn’t be able to take them all on, oh where the hell was a teacher when u needed one in this god damn high school!
The fourteen year old boy asked himself as he ducked around the back of the brown bricked, two story building that was Valice high school. Looking for a place to hide Cuz no coward kids were gonna help him either, that much the black haired gray-green eyed teen knew since had only been running from bullies like Bryan young his whole life . So he knew if he couldn’t fight them or get someone to help him stand up to them he would have to out smart the idiots, which.
Jared figured, shouldn’t be to hard since they were failing every class they were in! Now what to do, what to do?
The thin deph boy, who couldn’t talk other then reading someone elses lips or using sign language asked himself running into the first marble floor of the brightly lit school and flumpsing the Janetors closet door and smiling to himself. As if a light bulb of an idea had just flickered to life in his mind and he set to work, knowing Bryan and his pals were right on his tail!
It took a few minutes to set everything up but when he was done jared hid in the janetors blue closeted door and waited for the four bullies to walk right into his trap, and he didn’t have to wait for long as the glass front double doors of the school burst open and he could hear Bryan growl,
Tear this place apart and bring him to me so I can kick the crap outta him!
He ordered as they started opening classroom doors and lockers, looking for the shaking with fear teen who shrank in the dark cluttered with Pails and mops closet who was praying that they would all fall into his trap!
No sooner had that prayer entered his mind then there was a loud, though jared couldn’t hear it the rest of the teachers who were still in the school could, CRASH! And a CLANG ! Of metal and then four shrill screams as the four boys slid down the marble hall and fell face first into the pile of buckets and boxes and old chairs that jared had put there before he hid . Which alerted a crowd of teachers who were preparing their afternoon lessons who all shouted angrily,
what on earth is going on!
Then another one shouted,
detention all of u for about a month!
As he grabbed the boys and dragged them into the second floor principals office. As jared huddled in the cramped closet for what felt like to him a year but was really until the end of school because he hadn’t heard all that had gone on and didn’t know it was safe until the three thirty bell sounded, and the door to his hide away opened as one of the old janetors and an Educational Assistant who often helped Jared because he was one of the few who did sign language and was friendly to the boy, Caleb Neil looked at him and helped him to his black sneakers signing to the black haired boy in a blue T-shirt and jeans.
‘Y r u in here Jared?’
To which Jared signed back to the twenty year old brown haired man.
‘Just the usual cal!’
As he went to his blue door locker and grabbed his abhool bag and walked home. Feeling like he just wanted the world to end so he didn’t have to wake up every day fearing school and hating life!
But for Jared, being at his moms small three bedroom house on October drive in the city of Valice Nova scotia was no better then being at school . Because being at home meant seeing his step father Ron Nicholes fighting with his mom Jill Weasan, who in her own right was to nice of a woman because she had spent years with his abusive dad David Wesson and now after being divorced from him for eight years was right back into the Same type of relationship with her second husband Ron, who was a pompise, drunk loud mouth. Who after a day of drinking would throw her around or hit her over little things like not cooking what he wanted for dinner when he hadn’t told her what he wanted.
And now, as the thin black haired boy walked in to the small red kitchen net though he couldn’t hear what was being said he saw the fat, bald middle aged man push his middle aged mom against the wall and yell something in her face.
Feeling the anger rising inside his petite stomach jared stalked towards the Santa clause sized man in his plade sweater and black jeans but just as he was about to hit him Jill pushed jared away and signed for him to get in his room and stay there!
To which Ron signed,
‘Ya and stay there or ill smack u good u hear me!’
Glaring at him through his gray-green eyes the young boy stomped to his room and flopped down on his brown covered bed in his blue windowless room and turned on his computer to do his English independent stody homework, thinking while the fight was going on he could at least get the research done for his independent study on the o cult urban legonds.
‘Now if only I could decide on what urban legonds I’m gonna try and prove are real.’
The shy boy thought as he turned the internet on and typed in deals made at crossroads, desciding that he wanted to do his paper on that bcuz he wanted to see if he could maybe make one and have a demon or two kill anyone at school or in the world who picked on him!
And with that he typed into the google search engine screen on his black computer.
crossroads and their legonds about making deals at one. And sat back in his brown computer chair on wheels and waited for the dial up internet connection to work and bring up the information. Which most of the time took like centuries or at least it felt like centuries as a person sat staring at the hour glass thinking sign that appeared on the screen meaning the computer was loading the info but was taking its sweet old time maybe because someone was on the phone or maybe just because it was slow.
But eventually the screen lit up with dozens of hits.
And Jared clicked on one that Read, ingredients to collect and info on crossroads and the deals that’s its said can be made at one.
But as the black haired boy started to read his bedroom door burst open and his step father Ron signed get to bed or your dead,
To which jared rolled his eyes and shut the machine down and did as he said though he didn’t want to Cuz whenever the fat drunk wanted him to go to bed he usually smacked his mom around. But he was scared of him so he went grudgingly. And lay in his black acdc covered bed and fell fast asleep.
CHAPTER TWO
The next few weeks flew by in a blur of hard work and listening to his mom Jill fight with his step dad. But mostly the fourteen year old worked on his English classes independent study project, even avoiding Bryan and his friends by staying inside in the school large wooden floored library that held thousands of books to research crossroad legonds on the computers that sat in the middle of the brightly lit room on two long wooden tables. Researching it while the library who chatted with himWhenever he came in by notes Cuz she couldn’t sign. And as the weeks turned into monthes with jared hidding in the library researching crossroads
