Miss Silverstein - Kristina Murray-Hally
Chapter One
It was the first day of third grade when Sophie and her friends saw their new teacher, Miss Silverstein. Tall, thin, and with long brown hair, she wore a skirt and pale pink cardigan. Over her shoulder she carried a bag, and under her arm, what looked like a rolled-up carpet.

pointed William.
There is the Great Wall of China,
added Harriet excitedly.
Looking very closely at the Great Pyramids were Samuel and Louis. There were screams of delight as Isobel and Sophie called out, the Statue of Liberty!
Sophie and her classmates couldn’t stop looking at the rug.
Children, please sit down next to your bags,
she said, and waited for them all to be seated on the rug. "Good morning and welcome to Grade 3S. My name is Miss Silverstein and I will be your teacher this
